Great, Simple Product,

I've been looking for strength conditioning at home, and I've found it! I am somewhat muscular, so just doing pushups (used to do a 100\night) or lifting gallon water jugs doesn't do it, but this does. If get this band (mine's the extra heavy) snug, I have to work to crank out 6-7 pushups! I've also found that I can get great curls out of it, and even some shoulder exercises. Afterwards I just coil it up and stow it in a tiny spot in my closet, totally out of the way. Very happy with the product!

**Great Product**,
This review is from: Bodytrends Fitness ResistanceTubes (Misc.)
All that I can say about this product is wow. I go to the gym 4 times a week, but I know that everyone out there has those days when they just don't want to work out, or are too lazy to get over to the gym. With this product all wories are scratched out, because you can get a good simple workout at home in minutes. The resistance on something of this size is absolutely incredible. I use the heavy tube, and it feels as if there is at least 25-30 pounds of resistance. You can increase this by standing on the tube closer to yourself, and the weight practically doubles. You can modify it, and put it in different places, in order to get different workouts. This is one of the best choices I have made in the fitness category in a very long time. I recommend this to everyone out there who is looking to keep their pockets full, and have an alternative for going to the gym on those lazy days. This is all together a great buy.

Total junk.,
This review is from: Bodytrends Fitness ResistanceTubes (Misc.)
Their "Extra Heavy" band is not very heavy to begin with, maybe 30 pounds of resistance. The handles are poorly made. I bought both the Blue and Black, and there's hardly any difference.
Now, the kicker: On my SECOND time using the black band the thing broke in half. Whacked me right across the knuckles. Hurt! I am by no means a big guy. Trying to contact their "customer service" has been fruitless. I don't want to pay $6 in shipping to replace a $8 band... I have used plenty of these bands from other companies, and these are by far the worst I've ever encountered. Don't bother with these poorly made pieces of junk.

Good Product - But Shipping Charge Stretches Belief,

I bought the "heavy" version of this product mainly to help rehab my shoulder after arthroscopic surgery. It's a great product as far as it goes; but if you have any muscularity, you definitely want to go with the extra heavy. There are no "instructions" with the product, so an inventive imagination is a must on ways to use it other than bicep curls and upright rows.
The biggest drawback is the shipping charge. At only cents less than the product itself, I thought it was a bit sporty. I guess when you factor in gas, time, sales tax and inconvenience, it's worth it.

I first got a stretch tube from my doctor in college for a rotator cuff injury. It was basically a giant rubber band. Rehabilitative elastic has definitely come a long way since then. The handles are well attached and are not awkward. The tubes maintain their shape even under heavy stress. Very good quality at a good price. Update: As of November 2011 (you can see I originally wrote this review in 2009), the bands have still maintained their resistance even after normal use. Very good product.

I bought this because my rotator cuff started acting up. This tube was the right resistance and I like that I could take it anywhere with me and its not a big deal. The one thing I would change is make it better for putting on doorknobs because that is really handy, it mostly works fine but sometimes pops off. There is a great variety of working out that you can do with this, not just for arms but also for legs etc.
