Roman works as a special agent for a very elite and secret government agency. Years ago, he fell in love with his partner's sister but when his partner's girlfriend ended up dead because of she was personally involved with an agent, Roman decided to drop Kate cold, for her own good. Kate doesn't know that Roman's a secret agent and she felt betrayed when he left her. She's a brilliant nuclear physicist and has just made the break through of the century; an endless fuel supply. After destroying all her work notes, Kate goes on the run. Someone wants her formula and she'll do anything to keep it safe. Hiding out at her brother's cabin in the mountains, the last person she expects to see is Roman. She soon realizes that there is more to Roman than what she knew in the past, and that he's been sent to protect her or to kill her to prevent the wrong people from getting her formula.

This was fast paced and tension filled; just what you expect in an Intrigue. Roman and Kate have alot of unresolved issues and that spark that never seems to fade out. Roman sees sides to Kate he never say before; that she's brave and resourceful. Kate finds that Roman has a heart; he's just to scared to open it. This was a thrilling read and a great debut by Ms. Young!
