Fun and sexy read., May 31, 2011
This review is from: Bodyguards in Bed (Paperback)
Bodyguards In Bed is a fun and sexy anthology by three exceptional authors. It's a perfect summer read to sit back and enjoy. Who's Been Sleeping In My Brother's Bed by Lucy Monroe brings back the delightful Chernichenko Family. Danusia Chernichenko needs a place to work on her doctoral thesis while her apartment was undergoing repairs. Her brother's place would be the ideal place if she had the place to herself. Seems her brother Roman's co worker needs a temporary place to stay as well and it already there at the apartment. Danusia has had a major crush on Maxwell Baker since she first laid eyes on him. Since they are temp roommates can she get Max to see her as a grown woman and not Roman's little sister? Sparks will be flying. Jamie Denton's Hot Mess has Alyssa Cardellini picking up a witness at the airport. Only she picks up the wrong man. She doesn't know she has picked up FBI Special Agent Noah Temple and not the governments witness. Alyssa can't believe how much she is attracted to this man. But will she be forgiving when she find out who he really is? Acapulco Heat by Elisabeth Naughton has bodyguard Finn Tierney on assignment to protect top model Lauren Kauffman. Should be a cake assignment but Finn can't seem to keep his mind off his client. Lauren knows just what buttons to push to get Finn all fired up. Bodyguards In Bed has three delightful and compelling stories. Each has an element of danger and intrigue to make these bodyguards jump into action to protect those they care about. The chemistry between all three couples is tantalizing and all out sexy. Lucy Monroe and Jamie Denton are auto buys for me. Elisabeth Naughton is a new author for me and I will be looking for her books from now on as well. Great job ladies.

Sizzling Summer Sensation!, May 31, 2011
This review is from: Bodyguards in Bed (Paperback)
Bodyguards in Bed "Who's Been Sleeping in My Brother's Bed?" by Lucy Monroe introduces Danusia Chernichenko, a brilliant student who's run into some bad luck lately. With her apartment broken into and needing repairs, she goes to crash at her brother's place--only to stumble into the dark and sexy Maxwell Baker. Max tells himself (with five good reasons) why he shouldn't get involved with his best friend's sister. But when the break in turns into a connection to Danusia's work at the university, Max volunteers his services to stay close, very close, to her side. Now and always. Up next is "Hot Mess" by Jamie Denton. Alyssa Cardellini, a self-proclaimed "work-in-progress," goes on a not-so-routine errand to pick up a client. When he greets her at the airport, she's shocked to realize pharmaceutical accountant turned U.S. Marshall witness Charles Rolston is a stunner--gorgeous in every way--when in fact, she has picked up Special Agent Noah Temple with the White-Collar Crimes Unit of the FBI. Having lost track of Rolston on the way to the trial, Noah is instructed not to blow his cover. But when Alyssa turns into too much temptation to resist, Noah knows he'll have to come clean or else risk losing her forever. If only the two thugs chasing them around town would realize that! This sizzling anthology culminates in the exciting climax of "Acapulco Heat" by Elisabeth Naughton. When Lauren Kauffman's brother hires a bodyguard to protect her during her photo shoot in Guatemala, the agency sends Finn Tierney. His sexy Irish brogue and smokin' hot body are too potent for Lauren to resist. Finn struggles with his attraction to Lauren, as on a previous assignment, he had fallen for another model and it had only led to disaster. But when a Guatemalan drug cartel comes after Lauren because of her connection to a co-worker, Finn realizes he'll do anything to keep her safe and in his arms...forever.

Bodyguards in Bed, June 5, 2011
This review is from: Bodyguards in Bed (Paperback)
Bodyguards in Bed is a book made up of three different novellas from three separate authors, all with the same theme: hot bodyguards doing more than just protecting their clients. The first, "Who's Been Sleeping in My Brother's Bed" by Lucy Monroe, covers a brilliant Ph.D. student whose home has been burglarized. Danusia hightails to her brother's apartment, which thought would be empty, but instead finds hottie black-ops agent Maxwell Baker has set up his own temporary home there. Her eye has been on her brother's friend Max for some time now, and being alone in an apartment proves their chemistry is hot as ever. The second novella, "Hot Mess" by Jamie Denton, follows office worker Alyssa who gets in an identity mix-up. While at LAX to pick-up whistle blower Charles Rolston, she accidently reels in FBI special agent Noah Temple. Noah skips telling her she has the wrong man, but knows he made a mistake after they end up sleeping together. And the last is "Acapulco Heat" by Elisabeth Naughton, where supermodel Lauren needs the protection of former army ranger Finn Tierney while on location. When Lauren's co-worker turns out to be from a family of drug lords, murder ensues. It's up to Finn to protect Lauren from getting murdered herself, but of course he finds time for some passion as well. Bodyguards in Bed was a quick read, and I thought all three stories were interesting. Short stories and novellas aren't my forte, but it was a fun book filled with some hot scenes. I think my favorite novella was the third, probably because I thought it was the longest and I could get more into the story and characters. I thought I was going to really like the first, but it seemed to end as soon as it began. If you like short stories and are looking for a hot summer read, I would recommend Bodyguards in Bed to you.
