Predictably Good,
This review is from: Bodypop 1 1/2 (Audio CD)
Apparently Steve Naghavi felt that today's public was beginning to forget the roots of synth pop, and so he released this album as a pseudo "reminder" or tribute. The first not-quite-half of the album is original And One material, with two songs from Bodypop that I figure to be "pre-mixes," as they appear to chronologically precede the release of Bodypop. The highlight of the other three new tracks is certainly "Paddy is My DJ," which alone is worth the cost of the CD, in my opinion.
The remainder of the album consists of live performances of covers of classic (though not entirely well-known) synth pop. The highlight of these for me is "The Sun Always Shines On TV." I would have loved to have had their version of "Rebel Yell" included, but I suppose that would not be in keeping thematically. All in all it is a good album, but I still prefer their original material.
