It would be idle to try and sum up the whole history of this, the most famous aircraft manufacturer in the world, but suffice to say no less than 38 Boeing models saw service in WWII alone, including of course the Flying Fortress and B-29 Superfortress. In 1927, the first Boeing, the 40A biplane, delivered the US mail, with a range of 650 miles; today the 747-400 can cover 9000 miles at a cruising speed of 615 mph. 70 years of big jets, and Mike Badrocke has produced meticulous cutaway artwork of all the major types from the B-52 to the 777. With the expert commentary of Bill Gunston, this is an important visual work of reference for the modeller and for anyone who wants to get "inside" what amounts to the whole history of military bombers and commercial jet aircraft manufacture.

Great Illustrations of Boeing Aircraft,

This book contains BEAUTIFUL line-art illustrations of a host of Boeing aircraft, past and present. The artwork was done by Mike Badrocke who is a recognized master at this craft. Bill Gunston is also a master aviation writer. Together they've produced a very beautiful book for the aviation enthusiast. You'll see cutaways of the "700 series" aircraft (e.g., 707 thru 777) and Boeing bombers (B-17, B-29, B-52) as well as earlier aircraft, helicopters, and even the V-22 Osprey. As with other Badrocke illustrations, there are labels/callouts to various parts of the plane which help guide you through its inner workings. It's a wonderful book to help you "explore" the insides of these aircraft, and nobody does that better than Badrocke.

Another enjoyable Mick Badrocke and Bill Gunston collaboration. Fun to peer into the corners on Badrocks's drawings. I only wish they were reproduced a little larger.
