This is a good book for detail modelers or people intereseted in the "nuts and bolts" of the B-52. There are many close-up photos of the inside and outside of the aircraft. It has excellent detail shots of all flight positions, with the exception of the gunner (a station rendered moot by absence of the gun) and, disappointingly, the EW officer. The book also offers artists impressions of various models of the BUFF from different time periods. There are also some historical pictures taken of the B-52 during the Cold War years.

I got this for use as a model reference while building one. My dad flew on the Stratofortress for a number of years, and once he got to look atit, he was quite impressed with how much things have changed inside the bird. Overall, mostly technical pictures of every nook and cranny, and again, best for modelers seeking overkill.

There are a lot of books about the B-52, and why not, since it was first flown in 1952. This book was published in 1996 and covers all of the versions of the B-52 up to the H-varient, which is still in current service. Most books give you a lot of narrative and a few photos, this is the other way around.

2/3 of the photos are in color showing the interior and exterior of this giant bomber. There are also 3 pages of color plates showing camouflage patterns and line drawings to help the reader see the crew positions, landing gear and other interesting tidbits.

The target audience are modelers, but anyone who is interested in really seeing this plane without actually being in/on/around it will be pleased. I was, am glad I have added it to my collection.
