The Magic Arm works great and is built great,

I bought a Bogen Magic Arm in 1982 with a camera mount on one end and a clamp on the other end. It has outlasted seven cameras and half a dozen tripods. It gets used for every recital, concert, play, or sporting event that I go to for my kids. I just clamp it onto the chair or bench or door or fence or railing and I have a steady platform for pictures that doesn't get in the way of anyone.Almost 22 years of steady use with no sign of wear. Very handy and very durable. -- update 2/7/2012 -- Almost 30 years of use now and still going strong. I bought a new Manfrotto head for it that adjusts more easily and it just keeps being more useful.

This thing is so handy. Just attach one end to anything, and your camera to another. Anytime you want to move one pivot point, or three pivot points, you just turn the one knob, make your adjustment, and lock the knob back down. I love it. Worth the price!
