In addition to excellent photos covering Humphrey's life and career, this volume has a concise biography, an insightful appreciation of his acting, and details on all of his nearly 80 films and his dozen or so appearances on the Broadway stage. For casual fans, it is a must-read, and for fanatic fans a must-own. Good job from the creators and publishers, it would make a fine gift for any Bogie-lover one knows.

This book is just what it says-A Celebration of the Life Films of HB-the Stephen Bogart book on HB is more of the biography that I should have gotten-however, the Bogie book is great in its presentation of the films, the actors, and directors of those films

There have been some wonderful biographies of Bogart in the past, but here's one that includes some fantastic photos. For the fan that's looking for more than just words, here's a coffee table book that does the man justice, some wonderful still shots of a great actor in his many roles. You get the background of the actor & his movies as well as the pictures that will inspire you to go back & view his movies again. A great gift.

Though not an super in depth biography, this is a nice gift idea for anyone who is a fan of Bogie. The book is hardcover, quite a nice size, and features a lot of great photographs. The first section is a biography of the man and his life, and the second half is a breakdown of his filmography. None of the information is really anything you couldn't find online, but it's nice to have it all in hand. Plus the photos themselves make a worthy reason for purchasing this book.

I got my copy and I am happy I did. It sits next to my much more expensive Kurosawa filmography book, and more people comment on and look through this one!
