I use these at low tide on the mud flats near my house. They are extremely durable against the forces of rocks, shells and barnacles and numerous sharp and potentially dangerous pieces of marine trash (crushed rusty wire lobster pots). The soles are great for traction on hard and soft surfaces. They keep you feet really warm, even while under some pretty cold water [think New England Atlantic].

The best part for me is the cuff around the top make a nice seal around my calf. I can actully submerge the whole boot with evry little leakage into the boot because of the seal. This is what sets these boots apart from Wellies.

I've owned my most recent pair of Bogs for three years; I wear them 2 to 3 times per week. These are the best boots I've ever had for wet environments. They are warm, comfortable, and easy to wear all day-- I am shopping for a new pair because mine are just now starting to leak at the point where the upper and rubber lower meet-- I expected them to wear out a long time ago. There's no doubt that I'll buy Bogs whenever buying waterproof boots for myself or as a gift. The only question I'm asking myself now is whether to get the Classics or the Ranchers. If you need a pair of waterproof, warm, and tough boots, you can't go wrong with this brand.

My sons wear Bogs boots all winter and spring and fall. Nine months out of the year, the classic mid boot is their footwear of choice (we are in MA). These are rated for below zero temperatures and are completely waterproof so they run the gamut from rain boot to snow boot.
I can wear the same size as my older son, and I love wearing his bogs. So I wanted to buy a pair for myself but with a higher shank than the mid height. These seemed to fit the bill. However when they arrived they felt too small. I had my son try them on and he said they were too small (without my prompting). So unfortunately I am having to return them.

Buy one size up from the classic mid size and it should be great!

I was glad I listened to the many reviews listed about these boots. I was going to order my husband a size 11 but when I read many reviews that said boots ran small and to order a size up I took the chance and ordered a size 12. The boots fit him perfectly and he loves them. I order many items from amazon and this is the main reason. The reviews are plentiful on each product and it has helped in my decision to buy or not to buy. I love amazon. Also the boots arrived quicker than we expected (3 days and packaged perfectly). I now use Amazon for my main on line shopping.

These boots are so warm and comfy! I tried on my size and my toes touched. Since they don't offer half sizes, I had to order a full size larger than anything I've ever worn. They are a bit loose, but still so dang comfy! I wore them all day outside today, clearing snow and doing car repairs in the driveway. I wore regular"business"socks and could not have been more comfortable.

Oh, and I tried on the Rancher model and they run larger! Don't let anyone tell you these boots run true to size... You need to either try them on or buy them from a vendor that let's you return them if they don't fit.

When I bought my first pair about two years ago they seemed a bit pricey; however, they have been 100% waterproof. My size tens fit comfortably and keep my feet warm. Our Portland, Oregon-area property includes a creek bottom with steep sides. I have been engaged in removing the decades-worth of trash as well as ivy and blackberry, and replanting with natives. I spend considerable time standing and walking in the creek. My feet stay dry and warm; however, the tread seems to have worn down rather quickly, so I have to be careful on the slopes and on the creek bottom rocks. Regardless of my less-than-perfect rating, I'm voting with my credit card: I just ordered another pair.

I bought cheap ($20) rubber boots to walk the dog in the park when it gets soft and muddy, they required 2 pairs of socks just to tolerate. I broke down and bought these, since I figured in Oregon I'm going to have many days of sogginess, and what a great call that turn out to be. No regrets, and I'm very surprised how warm my feet stayed on the really cold days. Only 4 stars for no 1/2 sizes, I'm a 11.5, and bought the 12, just a little too much room, but OK for taking the dog to the park.

I have worn these boots in the Arctic and Antarctic. I've worn them on land, and during wet landings from Zodiacs. These are simply the best, most comfortable (you need to wear 1 or 2 heavy wool socks when wearing them and fit them accordingly) wet environment boots for hiking around, etc., and keep you comfortably warm. Sizing is difficult, however. The size that fit me was 1.5 sizes larger than my regular shoes and sneaks.
