Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

On what Barnes says was a covert U.S. government mission to Laos in 1981, he claims his team sighted two English-speaking Caucasians being held prisoner. No rescue mission followed his discovery. Barnes suppressed his outrage until 1985, when threats from officials, attacks on his character, and Congressional and press apathy to the POW issue changed his mind. Laden with documentary evidence, Bohica recounts the discovery of the POWs and his expose of the cover-up. The truth of what Barnes saw in Laos is impossible to judge. Clearly his claims put him at the center of a controversy. Recommended for general readers and libraries interested in this issue. Mark K. Jones, Cincinnati, Ohio

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Interesting Book..., March 20, 2001
This review is from: Bohica (Hardcover)
This book is very interesting and very disturbing as well as it details a mission to find POW's in Vietnam. Scott Barnes details his adventures in an exciting and suspenseful way. Highly Recommended for all interested in the POW/MIA issue.

1.0 out of 5 stars One man's opinion, November 3, 2008

Beyond Mr. Barnes' statements there is no documentation whatsoever of his story. The bulk of the book is a collection of documents, including Mr. Barnes' address book with purported names and phone numbers of high government officials. Even if the names and addresses are real, there is no way to know if he ever contacted or was contacted by them.

You can either believe this to be true or not. To me, it has the same texture of the 'Philadelphia Experiment' story; namely factual data surrounded by a mist of heresay and rumor.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true American Patriot..., November 2, 2005
This review is from: Bohica (Hardcover)
You want intrigue? The first 90 pages moves slowly, as there is so much background that needs to be explained. But once the story takes off, you can't put the book down as it takes you into the depths of CIA intrigue and the world of black ops.
Scott Barnes is clearly the true definition of a patriotic American. If you want to read a true story that is suspenseful and frightening, then you don't want to miss reading BOHICA!
