After much research I decided to buy the Clover version. Pretty much useless to me. Most of the time it did not thread the needle on the first, second or even third "push" of the button. When it DID finally push the thread through the eye of the needle I still had a heck of a time grabbing the tiny bit of thread to finish pulling it through the needle. Often times I ended up losing the end and having to re-thread again. I verified I was using the correct needle since I had read many comments about that. The other annoying thing was that most of the time it shredded my thread - or weakened it to the point where the thread broke on me as I was sewing.

I then decided to try the Bohin version - so much better. I'm using the same needle and thread and the Bohin successfully threads the needle on the first "push" of the button 99% of the time. The other thing I like better about the Bohin version is that the thread gets pushed further through the eye of the needle so I have no difficulty with pulling it all the way through the needle.

Saves hours of time threading quilting and embroidery needles. I've even used it for tiny #12 hand quilting needles, which it is not guaranteed to thread because the needle hole is so small. I've recommended it to friends and relatives.

Don't waste your money on any other kind of needle threader. This one works every time, it's easy to use, and you won't have to squinch up your eyes to thread a needle ever again!

This gadget will thread long-eye needles only, and one thread only - embroidery thread not at all. If needle doesn't thread the first time, the thread begins to fray, so be prepared to lose some thread. I ended up threading almost all needles size 10 with quilting thread using the slot for large needles, and having to try threading them several times in many cases. Occasionally I could thread one in the narrow slot. By most standards these are very small needles. Use with care, because if I had pressed a bit too quickly and the needle didn't thread, the needle flew out. Also, use care when steadying the threader because when the button is pressed both metal points are pushed out, not just the one being used. Unwittingly, I held the threader end to end and got a pierced finger. Hold it down using the flat area on the bottom only. Finally, have tweezers handy, as the loop pushed out is so small it's almost impossible to grab, and I have small hands.

I have used this item before and found it to be very good as it threads all the needles that I have tried with it, even the really thin ones with small eyes. Saves a lot of eye strain.

I came to Amazon looking for this needle threader because it has worked consistently well for me with fine threads (2-ply cotton as well as silk) and, yes, fine needles (milliners as well as sharps). The tool is certainly not designed to handle quilting thread or multi-strand embroidery thread, seemingly the basis for the negative reviews I was surprised to read here. But if you're doing hand applique, this little needle threader will surely do the trick.

Will NOT thread the fine beading needles I use, despite over an hour with the instructions, the only things that happened were the needles shooting out of the holder, and I had to find where they went. It will thread an ordinary needle, but that's not what I bought it for. What a waste of time and money.
