This is a great field knife.

I have a Buck 102 and this Bolker air force knife makes the Buck feel crude at best.

It looks like this knife is destined to be a rare knife even now as a reissue. The Boker Air Force SAC is a great reissue knife though. You get all the benefits of a special/limited edition knife without the large cost. These include individual serial numbers, old-fashion quality sheath with rivets along the front stitching and on the belt loop (which are all stitched as well). The sheath will last indefinitely and has a great leather smell as does the stacked handle. The blade style is basically a "Bird and Trout" design with a guard-less handle. That is one of the best all-purpose knife designs out there because it can fillet as well as skin. The size is wonderful. The whole knife can slip into a large pocket if you wish not to wear it on a belt. Another cool feature is that the "China" etch is located on the thin part of the tang below where the edge starts. This is the first knife I have seen that actually strategically located that annoying word. That feature, as well as many others, just makes this knife look as though someone really tried to make it beautiful. Clearly a well thought out reissue. I don't think anyone could have done a better job than Boker. If it had been US made, the price would be $50 more at least.

This is a re-issue of Bokers original Strategic Air Command Pilots survival knife.
Commissioned by General Curtis LaMay.
I bought mine @ World Knife. Well made, the high carbon blade will take a shaving edge and hold it.
Mine is going to see use this fall as a skinning and cleaning knife.
A plus for me is it does NOT look like a prop form Terminator 2.

First off this is a "Boker Plus Airforce Pilot Survival Knife" for the now defunct SAC. In other words, Bomber pilots.
From what I recall, The first thing most pilots do when they hit the ground after bailing out is, get rid of there sidearm. There fight is over! There job is now to get back to the other side of enemy lines. So with that in mind, NO this is not a fighting knife.

Think of this knife as a partner to the air force survival rifle. It is a .22 rimfire.

Now to the Knife. WOW! Nice! This knife is as good as it gets for a knife of this size. I was looking for a knife the size of the Buck 102BKS Woodsman 4" or Ka-Bar 2-1232-1 Sheath Knife 4". I have a Buck 102 and this Bolker air force knife makes the Buck feel crude at best. With a 3 finger grip the palmal tucks into the pocket of the palm of the hand. Right in the sweet spot near the base of the thumb.

If you have fingers the size of Bratwurst or think you have to hold a knife in your hand as if it was a club, then this knife is not for you. SK5 steel is close to 1085 carbon steel so it will hold an edge much better than a Stainless Steel knife but it will rust if you don't take care of it.

The only thing I don't like about this knife is, it is so nice I don't want to get it dirty but like a fine car I will have to take it out a put it through it's paces.

This is an Officers Knife not an enlisted mans knife.

What a fantastic remake of this historically famous knife . Enough cannot be said about the quality and overall appearance of this little beauty. I bought this knife to use on small game chores, one may choose to keep it amongst other collectables , but it's too pretty to keep locked away !

This is a great field knife. More in the line of a boning knife then most field knifes and did I say this knife is beautiful. As some one else said this knife puts the Bucks and Kbars of this size to shame. There is nothing about this knife I do not like. Beautiful.

Great steal, Great handle and a sheath style that is perfect for this knife.

From Pheasant to deer I know this knife will be up to the task.

The blade on this knife is around 3/4" longer then the Buck 102 and will NOT fit in the 102's sheath.
