This knife's 6-inch titanium-alloy blade offers several advantages over a steel blade. It stays sharper much longer (though its edge can be realigned with a conventional sharpening steel and sharpened just like a steel blade); it's far lighter; and it flexes, so it's less likely to break. The blade also looks different than steel because an oxidation process that enhances the blade's germ-repulsing capacity imbues it with an iridescent bluing (which is not as bright as it appears in the photograph). Another visible difference is the blade's oval indentations, which create air pockets for effortless slicing. Like the blade, the durable synthetic handle, rounded to fit the hand, is also lightweight. The knife will not stain or rust and is dishwasher-safe. Strikingly beautiful and light as a feather, this knife makes a memorable gift in its wood gift/storage box with a hinged plastic lid.
