For anyone into rock, black rock, or just something a little difference from the incessant drone of pop music, this is a compilation you must have in your collection. It speaks to the growing wealth of talent in the marketplace. I was familiar with some of the artists, but this collection introduced me to more great talent in the space. Props to the folks at Bold As Love.Us for putting together!

I had heard of none of these artists, and was impressed by all of them. I really hope this free sampler helps them and the label, there's a wealth of deserving talent here. I particularly enjoyed the Sabatta and Sophia Ramos tracks.

I have been reading BoldAslove.Us for years, and this compilation is great. There's a broad range of rock and alternative songs. I love Tamar-kali's song, "Ocean" and the song "Blak Girl" by Shelly Nicole Blakbushe. Download this today!

A pretty good compilation overall. There are several enjoyable tunes, but "Freedom is Over" by Sophia Ramos is exceptional; I also liked "The Last Time We're Here" by The Family Stand.

Thanks so much for this awesome compilation. I intend to explore many of these artists. I never would have heard about them without your help.

If the purpose of a music sampler is to present new artists to the public at large and to have the listener explore possibilities, you can't do better than the Boldaslove Presents: Fire in the Dark compilation. Every track on it is solid and offers something interesting musically to consider. Black rock musicians have to struggle these days to be heard and hopefully, this compilation will help these artists to be heard more broadly. I particularly like California King and now own all of their music. Well worth the time to download and you'll listen to it again and again. Note: I actually downloaded this almost a year ago, but came back to write a review to encourage others to download it, too.

Thank you for offering new and innovative artists. Covers multiple genres and very well - 60s hippie rock (Janis Joplinish - Sophia Ramos) to mellow almost transcendent music from Divisible. Take Me Away is remade R&B - like John Legend. Hip hop w/beats - Dope Sagittarius.

I had heard of almost everyone on here, but had only really listened to a few and was only especially supremely familiar with one (Tamar-kali, who is just magnificent in every single way possible!).

All that to say, there's no room for parochial blackness here. This is great music for everyone that accounts for the ongoing creative legacy of the 'black imagination.' It's also a testament to folks determination to keep making their music even as they watch lesser talent surf past them to 'mainstream' success (which is insultingly irritating to me and I'm just a consumer, not a musician). I appreciate the effort though, you should too -- so quit stalling and download!
