Rarely do I listen to a whole disk of music completely unknown to me and find myself introduced to one piece after another that are genuinely interesting, even exciting, and splendidly performed. Four of the works are recorded for the first time. Kobayashi and Gray have done the music world a great favor by introducing such superb music, all of it, incidentally, by women.
Both performers are excellent in their own right, placing highly accomplished technique at the service of deep musicianship. Moreover, their ensemble is as good as it gets. They play as one person.
Do yourself a favor and buy this recording!
