This is not the best Nana Caymmi you can buy,
By
This review is from: Bolero (Dig) (Audio CD)
Nana Caymmi is a stylist. She performs as if she caresses the lyrics and the song in a rare manner and with a beautiful timbre. Sometimes the pitch is not precise but what does it matter? One of her good traces is her choice of repertoire. Here she collects some "boleros", the Latin rhythm very popular also in Brazil though not Brazilian. Her Spanish is very good (she's lived in Venezuela for some years).

Great songs,

Nana sings boleros in both Spanish and Portuguese. Some great songs, especially the first, but Nana doesn't seem so much at home with this material as she is in 'A Noite Do Meu Bem'. Some of Gilson Peranzetta's keyboard backings are a bit clangy and metallic for my taste. He is great when he plays accordion, though. Worth having if you are already a Nana fan.
