This review is from: Bolivia Map by ITMB (Travel Reference Map) (Travel Reference Map) (English and Spanish Edition) (Map)
I ordered this ITMB Bolivia map because I loved the map they published on El Salvador. I am a traveler, and these maps are very useful for pre-trip planning.
The El Salvador map had a strong cardboard cover that faced out when the map was completely folded. The Bolivia map is completely made out of thin paper. The El Salvador map was also all printed on the front side. This map is on both the front and back, so pinning it on a wall is impossible. Also huge sections of this map are completely green. I know the rain forests are sparse, but is there really nothing of interest to show in the huge Gran Chaco National Park except a roughly 8x11 section of green? There is also no population information on this map. The El Salvador map gave the reader a good estimate of the population sizes of the various cities and villages. This map only distiguishes between a "town" and a "village" with no other information. La Paz is a "town", Pozo Antonio is a "village". On the positive side of things, the index appears to be complete, with several hundred entries. It's not all bad, but definately of different quality than the other ITMB that I had purchased, both materials and information. |
