I thought this game would be a great buy because it was the one thing my 7 year old asked for for Christmas/Birthday. He got very frustrated with it because he said it was too hard.
I feel all is not lost because he has older brother who can get some use out of it, and also, maybe it could be a game that he could pick up some time in the future.
Bottom line; not a total waste of money, but will frustrate younger gamers and be pushed aside.

I had played and loved the bolt wii game so I thought the ds version would be just as good. Ah it was not as good as the wii game but it was still one of the best games I've ever played. My six year old brother has been playing it for a while now and has no problems once so ever but does need help reading a little so if you want a good game for your kids pick this one. But you might have to do a little reading here and there. I really enjoyed this game and I hope you like it just as much as I did.

I bought this game for my 8 yrs old grandson for his birthday he loves it and has really enjoyed playing it the graphics are great also

My 5 year old son got this for Christmas and found it too frustrating. He enjoys watching me play. I personally find it a little too violent, but now I am hooked and want to finish it. I am stuck on the mini-game after Bolt gets put into the cage. I can't find any support online. I have been working on that part a little here and there for about a week and can't seem to get past it. Any help posted here is welcome! wink wink
All in all, I find it fun. The Wii is my first game system since the Atari I had as a kid, so I don't have much gaming experience to compare it too. We also have a blast with Mario Cart!!!

I bought this game originally for my 6 year old son for his birthday and he fell in love with it instantly and was all excited about fighting this or that bad guy and getting past the levels. He let his sister play it and she was bouncing up and down wanting one of her own. So I got her one for her report card and she was absolutely giddy. She hasn't stopped playing it since she's gotten it and brags about beating this level or that bad buy and gets me to help her when she gets stuck. It's really neat to be able to play with them and bond like that when they come and ask you to help them and have them be happy when you can and get it right. Overall, it's a high action game that's a lot of fun and fairly easy to play and the kids will enjoy it a lot.

I bought the game Bolt for my grandson's new Nintendo DS. I took him to see the movie while visiting with him for Christmas. He was really thrilled with the game. He just had his 8th birthday right after Christmas, so he is really at the perfect age for this game.

This is a fun game, but there is plenty of reading (not so easy reading) that needs to be done while playing. Plenty of it can be skipped if your youngster isn't old enough to read, but my six year old has needed me numerous times to help read what's on the screen. So, if you want them occupied while you're doing chores, expect to have to lend a hand now and then.

I bought this game because it looked like it would be fun for my six year old. He really enjoyed the game at first until he got about half way through. The game uses a "sonic bark", to use it the player is supposed to blow or bark into the microphone. It does not work for us. We tried any which way. Unfortunately, there is a part in the game where the only way to move forward is to use the sonic bark. This is a great disappointment, since my son is now unable to finish the game. I hate to pay $30 for a game that is impossible to finish, because either the game has a glitch or the microphone on our DS does not work properly. There does not seem to be another way to get around this and that is why I gave this game a lower score. Would I have known about this problem ahead of time, I would not have bought this game.

I'm 21 and I bought this game for myself, being a big Disney fan, and Bolt is a new favorite. I thought I might regret it at first, and it looked like too much of a child's game. But after playing for an hour I couldn't put it down! I think this is the perfect game for kids and adults alike. The missions are more challenging than they look, yet easy enough for a kid to follow (probably 8+). It took me several weeks to beat the game, partly because I got stuck on a couple missions and partly because I had to stop to get housework and homework done, haha. Overall, I really enjoyed the plot, the graphics, and surprising hours of game play. A quality buy!

We bought this for our Daughter for Christmas 2008 and she liked it. Don't know how much she plays it anymore but it was worth the price when we bought it.
