5.0 out of 5 stars Best Game Ever!
Bomberman 64 The Second Attack, is the best game because it offers tons of new stratagies and weapons. Gravity bombs are the best. When I bought this game I was surprized at the gameplay and graphics! If you're gonna buy a N64 game, buy this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pommy!
Wow, didn't think I'd run into this game again. I only ever rented this game, as it came out way towards the end of the N64 era of video gaming. Nevertheless, it was always an extremely fun game to me and I recently revisited it at a friend's house. Boy, did playing it again bring back memories!

Once upon a time, I would rent this game and play it nonstop...

This game rocks! I am completely addicted. The multi-player option is a blast for parties or whenever a few friends are around. Great job on this masterpiece!

I really like this game. It is awesome, but I am still stuck at Zoniha's place. This is a good game, but very difficult to win if you only have a com Pommy. Also look on Bombermania.com to find what type of Pommys are good before evolving Pommy. MYU!

5.0 out of 5 stars EXPLOSIVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 23, 2002

This whole game is great! The first one was good, but this is way better. The levels are complex, the story line is excellent(especially the cut scenes) the bosses are incredibly hard and you get bombs from beating them. The hidden Guardian armor look very cool and help you out. Pommy can help you as a computer, but you can also have a 2-player cooaperative mode. There's even an RPG element, because as you colect different food, pommy grows over time. The custom bomber option is cool, as are the 5 multi-player modes. What's not to like? Another awsome thing is the different endings, which are effected depending how you beat the bosses. You can't argue with quality. It looks, feels, and plays great. If you like suspense, humor, great graphics, great story and a party, don't hesitate. GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pommy!, September 27, 2006

Wow, didn't think I'd run into this game again. I only ever rented this game, as it came out way towards the end of the N64 era of video gaming. Nevertheless, it was always an extremely fun game to me and I recently revisited it at a friend's house. Boy, did playing it again bring back memories!

Once upon a time, I would rent this game and play it nonstop. The gameplay is simple yet challenging at the same time, especially once you make it to the optional worlds. Not to mention trying to get the rare pieces of armor in each level is also a fun challenge.

The story: you possess the elemental stone of fire and are on your way home from a long vacation to a hot springs planets where you found a curious looking egg. Suddenly, a black hole sucks you in and you wake up in a jail cell. The egg hatches to introduce Pommy, who evolves throughout the game based on the food you obtain by killing enemies and destroying boxes. You begin to meet various Elemental Knights (one of which is VERY familiar to fans of the first BM64 game, but I won't spoil it) and a mysterious woman named Lillith. Together with Lillith you attempt to stop an insidious plot to revive a god and, at the same time, destroy the black hole and get home.

The story is excellent, but what was the one problem with the game? It's way too easy to die, especially when you reach the amusement park world and encounter a puzzle with spikes that are incredibly easy to touch and will kill you on impact. And also, unlike many games, the final boss is incredibly difficult. This may give kids who thinks "It's an E game, so it's easy" a rough time. The last uber annoyance may be the save feature. You need to beat a level to save. Otherwise you must restart the level, which can be an absolute pain on the last three levels especially.

Final word: All in all I must say that this is one of my favorite games of all time and I spent hours and hours of game time (and then some). Therefore, I am proud to give this game a 4.75 star rating in the fun factor. However, due to the problems that may give players a bit of difficulty, overall, I give it 3.5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun enough if you can make it to the save point., January 26, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! (Game Cartridge)
Man, Bomberman Attack just wasn't that fun for me, at the end of the day. You had to finish the entire world before saving. I realized, as I was rather dreading to start it up again, that I just did not have to. I have enough games that if that particular game is not my thing I can just not play it. I love Mario, and Pac-Man along with Bomberman but I have a limit. Sometimes my fingers just cannot move fast enough to stop dieing. So when I started Bomberman Attack I realized early on that I could only go to a certain point without getting any better; that point didn't have a save area.
I really enjoyed what I could play, so it made me rather sad to have to put it away for good.
