Kindergarten-Grade 3-Great assets for units on community helpers and careers. All of the books show a multiethnic workforce in action. Simple texts (one paragraph per page) describe a profession, what practitioners in the field do, what they wear, where they might be employed, and required educational backgrounds. Equal gender representation is maintained throughout. Bold, full-color photographs highlight the discussions and effectively reinforce the subject matter. The Internet sites mentioned are in English as are the books for further reading. Nonetheless, these are solid additions, competently translated into Spanish.
