"Bombs Over Broadway" was prophecy for September 11, 2001. "new york city, broadway going up in flames... we never saw it coming... no time to run, now it's too late... lady liberty is laid to rest... she didn't expect bombs over broadway... so long Manhattan Island, our pride in you had no end... lights out, new york city, you were the first, but you won't...

1.0 out of 5 stars Squad Five O is Awful
I recently saw Squad Five O in concert, and they were terrible. I wanted to see if they just had a bad night, so I took a listen to the CD.....and it's even worse! They are a lame wannabe 80's rock band, with a terrible live show. Their singer is terrible and their live show also led my to believe him and the bassist are homosexual. Not that there is anything wrong...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good...but in hindsight...it could have been better., December 9, 2002
This review is from: Bombs over Broadway (Audio CD)
Yes. that's right. In talking to Jeff, he himself said that they were dissapointed with the way this record turned out. Yes, i will attest that it is an extremely good record. It definetely lived up to the expectations of Fight The System (though some would disagree)...but it was definetely a different turn. Earlier on, their records were skunk (ska-punk) records and this one was a total turnaround which record the glam acts of the 70's and 80's. It's a great record, but these songs are pulled off much faster live. The main complaint i've heard people make about this record is that it's much slower than the live versions and certain demos that can be found on various comps...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 80's Rock and Roll, May 22, 2001

I hear alot of people bashing this CD because its so different from their others. Don't listen to them, this CD is awesome. I was a fan of the old squad, and I like Bombs over Broadway better than any of there other stuff. The music is very 80s rock and roll. I have so much respect for these guys just for putting together such a good sounding and different album. Even though my favorite music is 80s oldskool punk rock, I still think this CD is worth a listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Band, Same Name, September 29, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bombs over Broadway (Audio CD)
From the opening power chords of Bombs Over Broadway all the way to the last wails of Don't Look Back, this is undeniably the best records (or CD) of the CENTURY! This is Chris Wood from Georgia and I've been a huge Squad fan since they released What I BElieve in 1997, all the way to Fight The System in 1998 to Bombs Over Broadway in 2000. I listen to this record every morning before I go to school and can play every solo and power chord on this record as well as the others. They've matured past punk and are actually doing their own thing. Millions of other bands are doing punk rock, how many are doing this? It kicks! Anyway, I'm 16 and as soon as I get my license I'm gonna go to every Squad show I can, from what I've heard, they rock live, so grab this album, you won't regret it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bombs over Broadway, August 15, 2000

Gotta tell ya honestly, this cd is total glam rock. When the band first started, it was totally about the whole punk rock/ska genre without horns, but they've melted into their current sound, changed their looks and their style, and pull off a 'guns and roses'-esque kind of cd here. Revoloution anthems sung with the 80's glam passion and the head-rocking beats. Being a fan of that style of music, i give the album 4 starts, but if youre looking for punk again like their first album, look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good, March 24, 2002

This review is from: Bombs over Broadway (Audio CD)
ok first off i would like to say to that stupid person that thinks the lead singer and bass player are homosexuals, they are actually brothers(and their live show is actually one of the best i've ever seen). and secondly i think it is dumb that they won't be playing "bombs over broadway" live anymore and that they are changing the album cover. the reason is that they wrote this song before 9/11 and it has a good message that man kind especially americans are so self indulgent and clueless and God will make fools out of us. we think we know everything when we actually know nothing. ok and now the review of the cd. i really like this cd. tramps on the run, restless youth, bombs over broadway, and apocalypse now are the best songs. but their new self - titled cd is better. but i still think you should get this cd cuz it is awesome and personally i don't think the cover or the song bombs over broadway are offensive, i just think its offensive that they are changing it and won't play it anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Rock with a rebel attitude, November 27, 2001
This review is from: Bombs over Broadway (Audio CD)
Bombs over broadway is the best squad cd. The lyrics on it are all reflecting their passion for the youth, and music. That is what music is about, expressing yourself...and squad does an awesome job of expressing themselves through their music. Also, the music is pretty damn good. The 80's glam rock style they give now, is awesome. its about time some bands start playing this style...and squad doesn't only play it, they live it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prophets of Doom!!!, September 24, 2001
By
Jon Heider (Alda, NE United States) - See all my reviews

This album rocks!!! They ditched the punk/ska sound of their first two and went for an 80's glam sound with a 21st century attitude. Due to recent events prophesied by this album, they are changing the cover on future pressings so as not to offend anyone. The title song is about how self-indulgent pride can bring trouble, but due to the tragedy, the band will no longer be performing the title cut at their shows. I suppose now it gives people the creeps, but buy it anyway if you like good 80's glam rock.

This album totally rocks!!! I didn't care for the punk/ska style of their first two albums, but this is 80's glam with a 21st century attitude! I just found out from their website that they are changing the cover on future pressings due to the WTC tragedy on Sept. 11, 01. I guess now it gives people the creeps.
