Cooking a dinner-party roast, holiday turkey, or backyard-barbecue pork loin to precisely the right temperature or for a specific length of time is a snap with this digital thermometer and timer. Simply program the desired temperature or the desired cooking time, insert the stainless steel probe into the food, run the wire outside, and close the oven door or grill lid. The door or lid should then remain closed so the inside temperatures remains constant. The unit's LCD screen displays the time and temperature, and an alarm sounds when the preset temperature or time is reached. Power comes from a single AAA battery (included). The display unit is magnetized so you can attach it to the outside of the oven door. You can also fold the unit to stand up on a counter. --Fred Brack

I've had this thermo-timer for over four years now, and it makes a great timer. The temperature gauge failed after about two months of use, and I haven't used it for that purpose since. Now I use the timer in my classroom every day, and it keeps time in a consistent, reliable manner.
