5.0 out of 5 stars Hassle saver
I always hated having to find a gas station to put air in my tires. Also, in the winter this was an unpleaseant task. Now with this compressor I can fill up the tires in my garage in relative comfort. It fills up the tires quickly and is very easy to use. The noise other reviewers refer to doesn't bother me. 1.0 out of 5 stars Product Failure
I bought the Bon-Aire BA121L 120V Air Compressor/Inflator in August 2007. I used it once or twice a month since then. On March 23, it heated up and went kaput. I never ran it over 10 minutes at a time, per manufacturer's instructions. Sure hope there is a warranty on the compressor.

My only criticism is that you HAVE to have a fairly long extension cord if you want to plug it into your garage outlet and inflate all four tires in one go. I still give it five stars though. I've owned it for 3 years with no problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, February 16, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bon-Aire BA121L 120V Air Compressor/Inflator (Automotive)
I was a bit skeptical of the product's performance due to some of the less than stellar reviews. LET ME TELL YOU, if you have a need for a compressor, look no further! Of course, as soon as I received it I unpacked it and put it to the test. I only had a need to top off the air in my tires but with the 18s I have on my car it took literally SECONDS to do so. THe gauge is precise in its readings. Its compact and easily travels from one tire to the next.

Noisy? Come on now. Some reviews actually made it a point to even mention this topic. WHY? It is a compressor, isn't it? My hair dryer makes more noise than this tool!

If you want a compressor that delivers what you need so you can take care of your tires at home instead of at the gas stations (YUCK!) then buy this product and do it without reservation. I sell commercial real estate and have no affiliation with the manufacturer. Its just a great product...BUY NOW!

It's much more powerful than the ones you plug into your cigarette lighter socket, that's for sure! It actually weighs and feels like a real air compressor and not some cheap toy. It fills up your tire pretty fast. The only thing I don't like is the short power cord, but just go the the local 98 cent store and get a power cord. This is Bon-Aire model is a good buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Convenience and Control, March 8, 2007
This review is from: Bon-Aire BA121L 120V Air Compressor/Inflator (Automotive)
The Bon-Aire BA121L has proven to be a time saver, although it takes longer to fill car tires in my garage than it does at a service station pump, I can do it when I want, when the tires are cold, and without being "quartered" to death. It is easy to use, lightweight, and not as noisy as I expected. It is worth the cost.

I like this product. Have been using it approx 2 months and am impressed with its speed of inflation. It is a bit noisy but I can live with this. Good product and has my endorsement.

This tire inflator is a very effective tool. It inflates quickly and it is easy to use. For me, the procedure was the following: Unwind the power cored and air hose, place apparatus on the floor, connect power cord to electric source, remove wheel valve stem cap, press inflator adapter onto valve stem, flip adapter lever to locked position, switch on inflator, switch off inflator when indicator reaches desired pressure, switch off inflator and verify actual tire inflation pressure. Completing all of these steps takes only about twice as long as it takes you to read this paragraph.

I found this to be a good product. A better design and quieter than the Black & Decker air station. I recommend it for tires and small items.
Large items may take a while though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good little compressor, May 22, 2007

Compared to the cheapo 12V powered compressor I had before, this is worlds better. It's much faster. Still not quite up to the gas station compressors, but an entirely usable substitute. One of my tires drops about 10PSI per week. It takes about 30 secs to recharge it fully. The meter could have more resolution, but it's OK. I like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gone-Aire, July 28, 2008

This review is from: Bon-Aire BA121L 120V Air Compressor/Inflator (Automotive)
This unit worked great for a couple of months of light use topping off auto and truck tires at home. Then it started to slow down, accompanied by a nasty burning odor. At that point I stopped using it.

This item has a one year warranty. On page 2 of the operator's manual it states, "Bon-Aire Industries, Inc. warrants this product for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase against any defects that are due to faulty materials or workmanship. Please return to seller of this product for credit or free replacement".
So, I sent an e-mail to Amazon. They replied, "Unfortunately, because more than 30 days have passed since you received this item, we can no longer accept a return". So much for a warranty.

There appears to be a similar device sold by Sears. Sears item # 02875117000. The reviews of the Sears Compressor have been less than stellar.

On a positive note, the pressure gauge still works !!!
