5.0 out of 5 stars More than Just a Frother
This Turbo Frother is NOT just for Frothing and anyone who only uses it in that matter is underusing this product. This frother is also an emulsifier and drink mixer. It will totally emuslify eggs so that you don't see any streaks (like in a carton of liquid eggs) , making it perfectly yellow which improves the taste of scrambled eggs or omlets. 3.0 out of 5 stars Works well, but not the best choice for coffee
I bought this product because my old frother broke and I needed a new one for my daily coffee. This device is very stable and pretty, but when it comes to milk froth a less sophisticated version sometimes works better. The problem is that the froth doesn't last long. This product is quite strong ('turbo') and it is hard to make froth without messing up the kitchen...

It's also great when a recipe calls for beaten eggs. This product does splater a bit, however, there are 2 remedies. #1 using a taller glass. #2 if you keep the disk submerged slighlty it won't splatter at all. Use it to emuslify salad dressings which can stay combined without seperating for up to two weeks. emuslify any liquid ingredients that normally sepearte. Use in shakes or weight loss drinks. The mixing/ emusifying choices are endless, and I think it is a great gadget added to any bakers collection. I don't use it as a fronther, I use it as an emulsifier for my baking.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun but fragile, March 17, 2006
This is a great way to cut back on Starbucks trips. But the blade at the end of the wand was very loose after a few uses. I have to be sure it is tight before each use. But it works well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy Sidekick for Immersion/tabletop Blender, November 28, 2005
This little baby is great for quick mixing. Definitely does the trick on coffee drinks. However, I use it mostly for breakfast shakes, juices and soups.

The frother is a good match for any time we need to do a quick "zip" on a small volume. In my kitchen, it mixes Eggs, pudding, starter for roux etc. As long as the mix is mostly liquid, the frother will mix it up and incorporate air - so a bit of foam is always there to deal with.

The frother works best with small volumes in narrow containers. (Hint: A splashguard of parchment/wax paper a big help when working with an open mouth container.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best battery-powered hand mixer I've used, January 14, 2005

I've had one of these for about 5 years, used it close to daily, and I swear by it. What sets this one apart from other hand mixers is the torque. The 4 AA batteries allow it to pack more of a punch than 2-battery mixers, and the RPMs it can produce will thoroughly mix or froth any drink.

I use mine for powdered protien shakes, and it always produces a foamy creamy shake that tastes better than the pre-mixed ones. There are a lot of cheaper, and smaller mixers of this type, but none which can consistantly produce these results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection, April 4, 2006
This compact unit is comfortable in the hand, attractive on the counter, and works incredibly! Froths even whole milk so fast. Better than more expensive and bulkier units in performance. Yeah!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked on this gadget, March 23, 2006

I bought one a few years ago & got hooked--can't drink my morning coffee without frothy milk! It finally broke so I went online to replace it. I've seen other types, but this style is the one I had to have! Found it (new) at Amazon.com for the same price I paid 3-4 years ago. It came in a few days and works beautifully. I'm a happy camper again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, October 15, 2005

I bought 2 of these...one for home and one for office. I use them nearly every day for mixing packaged drinks - shakes and soups. It is so fast and doesn't splatter like others I've tried. It creates more froth than others cause that's what it's designed to do...froth milk for coffee. However, you can reduce the amount of froth by turning it off a bit sooner and mixing more at the bottom rather than the top of the drink. Easy to clean; easy to store. A great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Power!!!!, February 24, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this gadget! First, it is more powerful than its competitors, as evidenced by its use of 4 AA batteries, instead of the usual 2. Secondly, it's great for emulsifying powder-based drinks, such as hot cocoa or protein shakes. Zip, zip and everything is perfectly blended. Third, how nice to make a smoothie just for oneself without pulling out the entire blender and having the massive cleanup of parts for just one serving. Lastly, it's compact, fits nicely in a kitchen drawer and makes a great kitchen/bar bridal shower gift. It's the bomb! Get it, use it, wonder how you lived without it.
