4.0 out of 5 stars Great Coffee!
You'll love the coffee from a french press especially this one. Get's only four stars because the screen filter on the lid is for marketing only. The screen doesn't keep the grinds out of your coffee. It is built well and pretty much like any other french press. Value was good but if you can find one very simular for a better price go with the cheaper price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Arrived Broken
Product looked good at first glance, but then I saw that the glass carafe was broken. I decided it was too risky to try again, worrying that even if it arrived successfully the glass would break too easily. I returned it and received credit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for coffee and wonderful for tea, February 29, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The first thing to note when using a French press is that it's extremely important to grind the beans to the correct degree. If they are too fine, you will end up with a cup of sludge. It is also important to note that the longer the press sits with coffee and water in it, the stronger the drink will be. However, if used correctly, this press makes an excellent cup of coffee that I find far superior to cups made by drip coffee makers.

My true love, though, is tea and I love to use this press for my tea. I have a nice Bodum glass teapot but I actually prefer using my Bonjour press when I make loose tea. The mesh in the filter is so fine that it does an excellent job of keeping small leaves out of my cup and in the bottom of the press. As with the coffee, though, it's best not to leave tea sitting in the press as it will get stronger and the taste of the tea will be ruined. I make sure to empty the press completely once my tea has brewed in order to avoid this problem.

I've owned this model for years now and have never had a problem with it. I usually wash the carafe in the dishwasher (taking care where I place it, of course) and there's not a single chip or crack in it. This is a wonderful product.

I am really glad I bought this produce, I can make a large amount all at once and fill up my travel mug. Filtering system works well and I never have floating coffee bits.

I have had a Bonjour French Press for ten years and love it...I ordered this one as a replacement since mine had finally worn out and a chip in the glass was getting worse...the discription says it's 8 cups...but it's not it's really a 4 cup...a cup to me has always been 8oz. not 4 oz. which is what this French Press turned out to be....so beware of discriptions...I ended up returning it
because it was way to small but Amazon was wonderful as usual...and I had a refund to my credit card within a week. I highly recommend this French Press...you won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars as expected, good, May 9, 2008
This review is from: BonJour French Press Monet 8-Cup, Polished Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
It's as good as one would expect from this type and brand. My only complaint is that they tout the advantage of having another screen that slides in place of the spout as it's poured, but it would have to be a tight seal to actually work as a screen, and it's not. It's just a gimmick. Aside from that it performs as expected.

I have used one of these daily for over 10 years and can not imagine being without it. If you are new to using a French Press it may take a few tries to feel comfortable with it, but you will never go back to your old way of preparing coffee. While I agree with another reviewer that the plastic screen in the lid is worthless, I simply unscrewed the top and tossed it in the trash. I have found that I like to loosen the screw holding the carafe in the base and simple wash the carafe and plunger in the dishwasher. It's all stainless steel and this keeps the coffee tasting fresh and delicious. Accidents do happen, so I suggest you keep a spare carafe on hand. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars I use it to make iced tea! Great pot., August 3, 2009

I don't use this coffee press to make coffee, believe it or not. I make my daily pot of iced tea with it. I boil the water in a glass teapot. I place 7 or 8 tea bags in the coffee press. Once the water has boiled, I pour it over the teabags until the coffee press is full. I let it simmer for 20 min. to 1/2 hr, pushing the press handle down and then up every so often, and finally down when I'm ready to transfer the tea to another pitcher. I don't have to worry about handling the hot teabags. Now I take a big pitcher (about 2 qts), pour in the tea, and fill the rest of the pitcher up with cold tap water. Voila! Enough tea for a day or two for my husband and I. The coffee press is lightweight, easy to clean, and very nice looking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bonjour 8-cup French Press, March 26, 2009
This review is from: BonJour French Press Monet 8-Cup, Polished Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I fell in love with press coffee at a friend's house--it's frothy, almost creamy compared to drip coffee...managed to break the carafe while washing it, but went on to Amazon and found the same french press as hers as well as a replacement carafe for the one I broke. A week later, I fixed the old one and kept it, gave her the new one and we both were happy with new pots and yummy coffee.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent purchase!, August 1, 2007
This review is from: BonJour French Press Monet 8-Cup, Polished Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
A swiftly delivered and very elegant item! We are thrilled with this more than reasonably priced french press. It filters the coffee granules very well and seems much more sturdy than some of the other relatively cheap ones out there.
