I've owned the Bonjour Instant Wine Thermometer for a couple years. It works perfectly and instantly. Great gift for your wine lover friends. I just bought two more as Christmas gifts.

The thermometer tells you the temprature of the glass or bottle holding your wine, not the exact temprature of the wine. However, the thermometer is pretty accurate and I have found that most wines, inclduing reds, do taste a little better when you get the bottle to the right temprature, as indicated in the included chart. One good suggestion is to chill wine slowly so that the wine and the bottle are roughly the same temprature. I have found that icing wine bottles or putting them in the freezer to chill lowers the bottle temprature faster than the wine temprature.
