I only had the wood floors for about 2 years and they looked like they were over 10 years old. Finish was very dull and looked worn. I had someone come and refinish it for me and he told me that I was actually stripping the finish off when I was using the "wood floor cleaners" products that I would buy at the store. He recommended to me that I use the Bona-X and nothing else and I would see a big difference. It has been almost 5 years now and my floors still look like he just refinish them. You need to use the microfiber mop cover which they call it the micro-plus cover on the amazon. I'm sure if you go on the internet, you will find the mop to use this. I highly recommend this product. I got a spray bottle and just refill it that way as it is easier and lighter to carry and it doesn't take much to do your floors. Never leaves it dull anymore and it really does a great job cleaning dirt off. Amazon got a good price for this product.

If you take the time to talk to any professional Hardwood Floor people they will tell you NOT to use Murphy's oil soap or ANY soap of any kind on your hardwood. I have been using this product for years and it was suggested to me by the hardwood installers that installed my floors. Given they have nothing to gain by suggesting this product I didn't hesitate to try it. They are right. I buy it by the gallon and Amazon so far, has the best price. Don't hesitate to use this product if you want to maintain your hardwood properly and keep it looking great.

We just bought a home with beautiful wood floors. I mean these floors at nine years old look better than the floors in the new construction homes. I initially washed them with a water and vinegar solution like my mother taught me, but unfortunately the floors were left with a ton of residue and looked dirty and dingy. I searched for a product that wasn't toxic because we are expecting our first child and I don't want my child, not to mention my pets, crawling around on a floor covered with toxic cleaner when I know that their hands will ultimately end up in their mouth. I was sold when I read the caution "If swallowed drink one or two glasses of water to dilute", not call 911 or try to induce vomiting, etc... I believe I also read about the Bona floor cleaner in one of my green building books. So anyway, I washed the floors with the Bona and even after the first washing with all that residue, they looked significantly better. After the second washing all the initial residue was gone and the floors look amazing. Everyone comments on how beautiful our floors are. The product is very easy to use with the Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop Kit, FG1M1600GRYRD(top rated), which I also purchased on Amazon. If you use that type of mop I would recommend changing the pad once or twice if you are mopping a large area. We have all hardwood on the first floor, stairs, and upstairs hallway in a very large house so I like to use all three pads every time I wash the floor. Since I like to wash the pads separately from everything else in the extra small size wash, it's just as easy to wash all three, rather than just one. The cleaner is already mixed, not a concentrate. Many floor installers recommend this product because it doesn't remove the finish from your floor.

I have hardwood on all my floors including the kitchen. I have always used a very dilute white vinegar/water solution wrung out very well-- just barely damp. My floors were always beautiful. A house cleaning company convinced me to use Bona for hardwood floors-- what a mistake! In the kitchen area the dirt and grease was being spread around but not actually cleaned up, and the floor looked like it was a century old. The rest of the floors also began to look dull with a film on them. I tried the refinishing polish Bona sells to fix it. What a disaster that was-- this product is like a floor wax, which does not go well over a poly floor. After 24hours it was still tacky and also turned white, with streaks everywhere. It took me 10 hours on my hands and knees with Krud Kutter and amonia, a plastic scraper, a box of 200 paper rags and a laundry load of towels to get that crap off my floors. At least then I was back to the dull finish, but that shows every foot print and water spot. I went back to my white vinegar/water and with three moppings today, followed by a microfiber mop buffing the floor while it was still wet and it now appears less dull and is looking pretty good. I am hoping that over time this dull finish will come off completely. While I was mopping with the vinegar and water I noticed immediately a "slime" of Bona and the water was gray. My advice-- stay away from this stuff if you don't know what kind of finish is on your floor and if it is compatible-- I have an engineered wood floor (ash) with a poly finish. Try a small area first and be patient-- the film doesn't show up after the first or second use and is very difficult to get that stuff off the floor.

I had recently installed engineered hardwood floors in my home. I asked the installer what product I should use to clean the wood floors. He suggested the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop System.
After carefully reading just about all the reviews and seeing videos about cleaning hardwood floors on YouTube, I decided to try the Bona product. I realized that the product worked great for my floors but I also realized that it would probably disappoint other wood floor owners. It worked well for me because I have a matte finish on my floors. My floors have a more rustic look and not the high gloss finish of more contemporary looking floors. I've had the high gloss wood floors before and found them very difficult to keep a high gloss shine. I've tried many, so-called top brands to keep those floors looking good but none of them really succeeded. This product did not leave streaks or a film on my floor. As a matter of fact, I watched the product dry right before my eyes. So, I've come to the conclusion that this product is great for low gloss ( matte finish ) floors but be advised that if you try to use this product on high gloss floors, be patient because you have to really work at it.
