The mendocino steel fire pit uses gas for fuel instead of natural wood, a safe alternative to wood burning fire pits. each outdoor heater is made of heavy duty steel with a round top and beautiful scroll work on the legs. this firepit conveniently runs on propane, using a 1 lb. tank (not included, but available at many retail stores) with approximately 20,000 btus, generating warmth up to 10-feet away, and running for approximately 6-8 hours on low, and 1-3 hours on medium. includes lava rock and ceramic log. manual ignition and adjustable flame for easy temperature control. the fire ring is made of stainless steel. assembly level/degree of difficulty: no assembly required.

We ordered this fire pit for our small back patio, and it's a perfect fit! Just enough flame without being smokey or too big. We have enjoyed many evenings sitting out back by the "fire", and have received several compliments on it. Love it!!

I bought this for $175, and I believe it was refurbished. That might explain the dents in the main frame and the fact that the cylinder part was bent as well. However, it can kind of be hammered back into place and the flame and ceramic logs look great. Nice, even flame. I really wasn't expecting it to put off any heat, and it totally does not! Use a blanket when sitting by this fire pit. Still seems a bit pricey for what you get, but I could not find a less expensive gas fire pit out there...

Not worth the time to order unless you want to pack it up and send it back. Heat is minimal at best. Get more heat from a bic lighter. Tanks only last 1 - 2 hours on low. Returned and purchased a wood burning fire pit and am soooooo glad I did. No comparison.
