Book Description

1987
Are there certain areas of your life over which you seem to have little or no control? Perhaps you have found your thoughts and emotions overpowered by hatred, anger, lust, or depression. Or you find yourself overcome by habits such as masturbation, drinking, drug abuse, cigarette smoking, or illicit sexual relationships. Maybe it is compulsive overeating, dieting, exercising, shopping, spending, or maybe lying, criticizing, or gossiping. Even simple things like fingernail biting or excessive talking can be unpleasant binding compulsions.
In this book, Craig Hill gives you practical keys to break the bondage in your life and release you from the prison of controlling habits. You will discover root causes of bondage and how to tear down strongholds in your life to release you into the peace and joy that God has intended for you to experience.

From the Author

"Why do I do what I don't want to do?" is a question that I hear often in counseling. There are always areas in people's lives over which they have little or no control. Often times their thoughts and emotions are overpowered by hatred, anger, lust, or depression. They may find themselves overcome by habits such as masturbation, drinking, drug abuse, cigarette smoking, or illicit sexual relationships. Or, perhaps it may be compulsive overeating, dieting, exercising, shopping, spending-or maybe lying, criticizing, or gossiping. Even simple things like fingernail biting or excessive talking can be unpleasant binding compulsions.

In this book, I offer simple, practical keys to break any bondages in your life and release you from the prison of controlling habits. You will discover root causes of those bondages and learn how to tear down strongholds in your life which ultimately releases you into the peace and joy that God intended for you to experience.

About the Author

Craig Hill, along with his wife Jan and their two sons, live in Morrison, Colorado, where Craig and Jan give senior leadership to Family Foundations International, the ministry through which life-changing Family Foundations seminars are conducted around the world.

God has given Craig unique insight into marriage, family, and interpersonal relationships, resulting in his ability to identify for many people the root causes of relational conflict, compulsive habits, low self-esteem, workaholism and undesirable life patterns which are repeated from one generation to the next. By interweaving personal stories with biblical truth, God has anointed Craig to pierce through the veil of the mind to minister to the depths of the heart, resulting in real life change for many.

Author of seven books and numerous teaching tapes, Craig holds a BA from Carleton College in Russian Area Studies and Geology, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
