5.0 out of 5 stars I was pleased
I bought this cd from an overstock bin for a dollar without ever listening to the band (I would pay more now if I had to). Kind of reminds me of the newer phantom planet cds and shades of brand new's deja entendu. Other stuff too. I would recommend highly.

The only songs I could do without are Wolf and Hijackers. The others are golden.

2.0 out of 5 stars Different Style of Music, not a good thing
I have LOVED The Working Title for some time now. All their past Albums are brilliant, both instrumentally and vocally. Their latest album however falls WAY short of the high bar that I have set for them.

The style is drastically different. I am not a fan. The only thing I could strongly recommend is listen to ALL samples before making the purchase for...

4.0 out of 5 stars Different, in a GOOD way, August 16, 2009

Don't get me wrong... I loved "Everyone Here Is Wrong" just as much as everyone else, but this one is a whole new bag of tricks. It's just as sincere, but more mature, and less polished. Don't be discouraged by the first impression of how different it is. Really listen to it. It's sincere. That's always been the common thread with The Working Title's songs. They never feel forced or contrived.

Give it a listen, and keep an open mind. I think you'll really enjoy it on a long term basis.

(ps. I didn't like About face. I'm glad they went in this new direction rather than following that path)

I have LOVED The Working Title for some time now. All their past Albums are brilliant, both instrumentally and vocally. Their latest album however falls WAY short of the high bar that I have set for them.

The style is drastically different. I am not a fan. The only thing I could strongly recommend is listen to ALL samples before making the purchase for yourself. I wish I would have done this instead of getting so excited for something new from a band I have loved.

Maybe it is just me, but: I WANT THE OLD WORKING TITLE BACK!

On another side note, I HIGHLY recommend About Face, Everyone Here is Wrong and Sincerely.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good..., August 11, 2009
This review is from: Bone Island (Audio CD)
A long time fan of The Working Title. As the other review before mine stated, their other music was simply amazing. I, too, was excited when I saw they were releasing another album... however, after downloading them all to itunes and listening to it once, I realized it was completely different than their other music. It's not catchy. Not music that I find myself thinking about later. it's very depressing and just not good music to listen to. Working Title, what happened? Bring back your other style. Joel, if you read this, please don't take offense. You're an amazing singer. Just get back to what you do best and write the style songs you've written in the past. This new stuff is way too drab dude.
