What I expected, but not bad at all,

Rudy's new album is very good. He uses some more of that computerized voice effect that he used on the Wreath Of Barbs track. Its not as dark or harsh as EmbryoDead(which I liked best) but its not all that bad either. Its a lot slower as far as beats go and of course its evil as hell. The booklet contains pictures of someones hands grabbing at their torn stomache. The lyrics are evil as usual too which is good. The only thing I didnt like about the album is that it doesnt hit any new ground. The sounds are similar and the songs dont give me goosbumps like past masterpieces i.e. Bunker Gate 7 or EmbryoDead. Maybe its just because I havent had a chance to listen to the album several times yet, to get the full feel effect. One thing is for sure its good mood music, perfect for a dark evening or Halloween, or if youre like me...anytime. Its a new full length Wumpscut so I'm not complaining. If youre looking for a faster harsher, more evil Wumpscut, this isnt it. Its a slower, quieter, but still evil Wumpcut. Highlight tracks are Crown of Thorns, Our Fatal Longing, Just A Tenderness(that title sounds funny to me), and In the Peace of Night. Not for newcomers, but longtime Wumpscut fans(like me) will be happy.

Is it me, or does every song sound the same on this album?,
By

I really like the songs "Just A Tenderness", "March Of The Dead", and "Final Warning". The only problems I have with this album is that all of the songs sound identical, and that Rudy repeats himself over and over again. It's not a great Wumpscut album, but it is ok. Oh, and I really like the artwork.

Listen to all those haters out there! Criticizing an album because it's not "industrial" enough? What are you guys, a bunch of conservative Republicans? No, this album is not Bunkertor 7 or MFAST, but get over it. It's slow and grinding, like a torture device. All praise for the Master for taking a break from the dance-floor! Besides, if he wasn't making you mad, he wouldn't be doing his job now, eh?

This CD wasn't quite as good as wreath of barbs, because I like a lot of Rudy's faster music, and this CD is slower, definately... but I do love this CD, I love all of Rudy's work... The best tracks, I'd say are "Crown of Thorns", "March of the Dead", "Fallen Angel", and "Your Last Salute". The others are good too, maybe I just need to listen to this CD more... definately worth the money if you love :wumpscut:.

I have many Wumpscut albums and this is my favourite. Not too heavy, not too light. Favourite song, "In the Peace of the Night".

Pretty Good,

I'm a big Wumpscut fan, and I got this album mainly for Scavenger and In the piece of night. But all of the rest of the songs in this album are still really good.

12 tracks to tingle your spine!,

12 tracks to tingle your spine! When you think of Germany you think blonds, small towns with intricate structure, excellent cutlery, and now Wumpscut. Wumpscut is a name that is well known in the underground electronic/dance music scene, and has been around since 1991. In 1996 the folks over at Metropolis were so impressed with the acceptance of these folks in both Europe and the US underground dance scene, they decided to welcome them with open arms and spread the love that can only be called Wumpscut. With their most recent release "Bone Peeler" you too can now feel the love. "I've seen much of the world... It is Brutal and cruel and dark" - These are the words that greet you when you begin this most excellent CD. And let me just reiterate that this CD IS Brutal, cruel and dark. And I mean that in the most respectable way. I really enjoyed this injection of electronic composition. Now, don't let the word "electronic" deter you. Wumpscut have found the perfect balance between eerie, abrasive lyrics and electronic music. Even if you're not into the Electronic or dance scene you are really going to dig this latest CD. The cover and booklet for this CD just oozes horror. The artwork of Scott Craig (cancerbox.com) brings an excellent blend of horrifying images that leave your mind to wander in your own sick and twisted psyche. With images of cadavers, x-rays, skulls, and medical instruments that can only be imagined as being in hand of a mortician, jump starts the mood for the journey that Wumpscut will take you away on. Marilyn Manson could take a few lessons from Rudy Ratzinger, whose vocals you will hear on all tracks except "Last Salute", which instead features his "lifeblood" Clara. The lyrics along with the music on this CD give that grated angry feel, with out the screaming. Who would have known that could be done! Not only that, there are excellent hooks, percussion, and kick ass sequences. Bottom line? I was way impressed with this album, and I strongly urge you get your hands on it.

Burning prayers for humanity!,
By Richard Van Camp (Vancouver) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bone Peeler (Audio CD)
One of the recurring themes in Rudy Ratzinger's work is outrage: outrage at the state of things today on all levels and outrage at what we've inherited as spirits in human form. These songs are burning prayers for humanity and they're laced with murderous intent. Incredible! Check out the brilliant instrumental "Your last salute" and the war chant in "The March of the Dead" as well as the sad melody of "Rise Again" and take heed, underling, to the unveiled threat in "Final Warning"! The most surprising track on the album is "And Life Goes On" because it empowers the listener with "It's up to you now." I didn't think Rudy had any hope left in him especially after the most diabolical song :Wumpscut:'s put out yet: "In the Peace of Night." I won't even repeat the lyrics but they're as grim as it gets...

For Shame, Rudy...,
This review is from: Bone Peeler (Audio CD)
I was highly disappointed by this release. If you want something decent, pick up a previous disc, because this one is seriously lacking in everything that makes Wumpscut worth listening to. "Scavenger" is the only redeeming feature on this CD, and really, it's not all that spectacular. Listening to Bone Peeler is like opening a bottle of your favorite soda and finding out it's flat.

Decent, but lacks the punch of :wumpscut:'s earlier works,
By Ted Del Prato "technodemon" (Acworth, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bone Peeler (Audio CD)
Wumpscut's work has always held a sort of undescribable mysticism...it's simple in composition, yet extremely powerful and effective. The purely electronic music mixed with heavy, banging bass and distorted vocals provides a surprisingly vivid picture of it's dark themes of violence, decay, and war. Wumpscut's newest release, Bonepeeler, retains those same themes, and while there are some excellent tracks on it, one can't help but feel as though Rudy might be running out of ideas for the project. The first five songs are all quite good, even if sometimes the lyrics seem forced. Crown Of Thorns is probably the best bet for a single here with it's well placed samples and steady beat (though it seems too similar to Wreath Of Barbs in ways). Rise Again is one of my personal favorites, and is 100% traditional Wumpscut. After the first five tracks however, the album goes downhill. Most of the songs in the later part of the album are too quite and slow to be worthy of repeated play. My advice to all the industrial/ebm fans out there: Get Bonepeeler only if you already own all of Wumpscut's older material. For Wumpscut's standards, this is only a mediocre release.
