Book Description

September 15, 2008
After an accident several years ago, Dean Kropp couldn't work in his business as a caterer to the stars due to his injuries.

Fortunately he had insurance. They would take care of him, right? Wrong.

Navigating the ins and outs of laws that vary from state to state, fighting insurance companies working diligently to deny claims, and the labyrinth of paperwork and rules for government aid are exhausting . . . when you are healthy.

Try it while healing from an accident, or two, or three.

Are you prepared if life takes a nosedive after an illness or injury? Do you have a clear understanding of your vehicle insurance? Do you know your rights if you are hurt in a no-fault accident? Would you be able to make a comeback after being out of work for seven years?

Many of us avoid thinking about these questions. Often, when bad things happen, we are not prepared.

Dean's story will give you a better idea of what you may be up against if you are injured -- and how you can protect yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and inspiring, A Bone to Pick by Dean Kropp is a true story of the author's personal fight for his rights!, May 3, 2009
This review is from: A Bone to Pick: Chef Dean's Rights for Rehabilitation (Paperback)
Informative and inspiring, A Bone to Pick by Dean Kropp is a true story of the author's personal fight for his rights!

A Bone to Pick by author and pastry chef Dean Kropp is an informative and inspiring true story of the author's personal fight for his rights and compensation after being injured in a car accident.
Fortunately, Dean Kropp had insurance. We have insurance to take care of us after an unexpected accident, right? Insurance companies come to the rescue, right? In Dean's case --- Wrong!

Dean Kropp had to learn the ins and outs of laws and the court system as he exhaustingly fought insurance companies who diligently denied claims. Dean had to find his way through a maze of paperwork, laws and rules for government aid. With the an attitude of 'If it's gonna be - It's up to me' , You'll learn how, what, and why from Dean in his new book A Bone to Pick!

Are you prepared for what will/could happen after an illness or injury? Do you have a clear understanding of your vehicle insurance? Do you know your rights if you are hurt in a no-fault accident? Would you be able to make a comeback after being out of work for seven years? A Bone to Pick by Dean Kropp is a book everyone should read and have on at home or office.

In a recent interview Dean says, "My book depicts the truth about insurance companies. I wrote the book because it was such an unusual string of events that happened to me, and I learned a lot of inside information about the insurance scene. Who would think that not one, but three accidents, would be highly unlikely for any human being to experience in their lifetime. One accident is enough to deal with. It was the first car accident on August 6, 2000, that motivated me to write the book because of the independent medical exam. My goal with helping others is this; when people buy their car insurance, they really don't know what they are getting for coverage. Ok, it looks good on paper, but there is a big "but" there. It is not written in the insurance contract how the injured party is allowed to heal. I didn't know that massage therapy was covered with No-fault insurance. My outline for the Declaration of Injured Persons' Rights, should be a good start for informing people what they are covered for in case of injury. "

Chef and caterer to the stars, Dean Kropp, challenged the practices of his personal auto insurance, health insurance agencies and government agencies who denied injury claims, in his real life fight for what is right! This is a true story of David versus Goliath.

Be prepared! Be Ready! Buy a copy of A Bone to Pick today, Dean Kropp may be your first friend in time of need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read "A Bone to Pick" Before You Need Help!, September 3, 2008
This review is from: A Bone to Pick: Chef Dean's Rights for Rehabilitation (Paperback)
"A Bone to Pick" written by pastry chef and actor, Dean Kropp explores his seven-year journey through the underhanded methods insurance companies, along with attorneys, the IRS and Social Security, used to deny his just compensation.

Kropp relates his blistering critique of the auto and health insurance systems by using his tongue-in-cheek humor and sharp insight to share his personal experiences after getting whiplash in an auto accident. The book is an easy read, written in a humorous conversational tone that highlights the extreme stress of navigating the systems supposedly set up to pay for your injuries and help you heal. You will actually feel Kropp's pain as you dive into a network of doctors, lawyers and the other professionals whom you think will look out for your best interests. Well, think again.

"A Bone to Pick" is an inspirational, true story of Dean Kropp's uphill fight for his rights for compensation and healing. How bad can it get? When an IRS audit is your best experience, you know you're in a battle.

"A Bone to Pick" is sprinkled with Chef Dean's own stress-relieving gourmet pastry recipes awarded to those who helped him through this journey. Also included are photo exhibits of some of Kropp's rehabilitative back exercises and typical form letters you could receive from companies you've trusted to be on your side.

"A Bone to Pick" delivers a clear, honest (although scary) understanding of what to expect after being injured in an accident and more importantly, explains how to successfully navigate a system hell-bent on leaving you injured by the roadside.

Don't wait until you have an accident. Be prepared. Read "A Bone to Pick"!
