1.0 out of 5 stars Hrmm... not worth the money spent
Only two good songs on the whole album, "Legacy" and "Dropped the Hammer". All the rest really carry no sort of rhythm at all, most of the songs sound like a car accident in progress.

You must buy this CD. "Legacy" and "Drop the hammer" alone are worth the price of admission. My only regret is that the disc doesn't contain that song by Chitlins, Whiskey and Skirt. [smirk]

4.0 out of 5 stars The most under-rated album ever, May 23, 2001

This is, simply put, THE most underrated album of all time. For a band this good, this band really do deserve SO MUCH MORE recognition. Their music just hits you where it hurts when you first hear it. Black Is White and Trapped aren't so good (although Trapped has one of the coolest solos) and You Don't Know A Thing About Me is just awful (although strangely catchy). But the rest, well they more than make up for it. My personal favs are Legacy (the song on the Full Throttle intro), We Want Our Brothers Back (the better of the 2 ballads, although Drop The Hammer is cool as well) and Not Buried Deep Enough (the slowest of the heavy songs, but amazingly cool with a real groove to it). Other great songs include Love Comes Crawling, Get Outta Town, Let 'Er Rip and Born Bad.

For those who haven't heard this, it's 80s style metal with a bit of rock here and there. I highly recommend to it to fans of early Iron Maiden and Guns And Roses especially, as it's kind of a mix of the two. Go buy it now!!

The Stephenwolf junk is for panzies. This is the real thing. This album has everything, fast paced overdriven guitar, slow love ballads, insightful lyrics. Each track is distink and memorable. This is one of the most underappreciated albums ever put out, and in my eyes one of the best. This album is a tribute to rock 'n roll, it is pure, raw, emotion and music. The American dream all in a six string. If you bought this album and didn't like it you must have a problem. I would suggest seeing your doctor and a therapist. This music is comprable to many other bands. I would say it is similar to Cheap Trick, Metallica, and maybe even Blue Oyster Cult. Take a chance, buy this album, it will amaze you.

A Kid's Review

I've recently purchased this CD and I've gotta say... IT'S GREAT! Most of the songs are great except from a select couple, really catchy tunes :) Anyways, I recommend you purchase this CD like all the other people who reviewed this. I ALSO recommend getting Lucasarts' Full Throtte, the game this music is featured in ;) Tune in!

I picked this CD up a long time ago from Lucasarts when I was playing Full Throttle. Simply put, this CD is a straight up rocking collection of biker metal/rock tunes. Most tracks on this album make you want to headbang and drive faster than you already are, with a ballad or two thrown in. Granted, the Gone Jackals aren't the entity known as Pearl Jam, but who is? For what it is, this CD rocks...hard! Get it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Full Throttle, September 15, 2000
This review is from: Bone to Pick (Audio CD)
This CD contains everything from slower ballads to straight-out hard rock, with even a little pinch of country thrown in (in Don't Know a Thing About Me). It also contains some insightful lyrics, though much of it is rather enigmatic and therefore escapes comprehension. Karloff's voice blends perfectly with the distorted guitars and the fine riffs, and the whole disc is well executed. You will most certainly enjoy listening to this in your car - or on your bike...

After playing the PC game FULL THROTTLE i started to wondering "who did the smashing soundtrack?". When I found out that it was The Gone Jackals, I started searching every music store i saw. None of them knew who The Gone Jackals were. Untill i found it on Amazon.com and since the day i got the cd, i've never put it down. This album represents the true American bikers. A must for everyone who likes guitar orriented music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worthy supplement to excellent LucasArts game, July 4, 1999
This review is from: Bone to Pick (Audio CD)
I had never heard of the Gone Jackals until playing Full Throttle, the PC game by LucasArts. It is awesome! Get Outta Town, Legacy and Drop the Hammer are my favorites. I wish they were more popular, they certainly deserve it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full Throttle, February 20, 2007
This review is from: Bone to Pick (Audio CD)
One of the greatest get up and go cd's I've ever purchased, after hearing the music in the Lucasarts game Full Throttle many moons ago I hadn't been able to get it out of my head. Full-on biker rock from heavy to mellow.

My recommendation: Play track 2, 'Legacy', while driving down the motorway
