All in all, Bone Soup is a rare gem because of its top-rate storyline(so funny and clever!) and its whimsically scary illustrations. Just like the other reviewers have said, the illustrations that accompany the storyline are not only well-crafted, but witty and multi-dimensional. Parents will be smiling along with their children as they enjoy this fantastic Halloween book together, around Halloween time and all year long.
Five stars for Bone Soup! It really gets you in the spooky mood.
Oh, and I'd love a plush Finnigan and bone soup cauldron for my niece and nephews....
Just as a side note, while reading the book the second time I started thinking to myself this book seems familiar and after reading the back of the book, it then made sense. It was an inspiration from the story stone soup which my son read in pre school (that made the book even better). I liked this story way better though!
I usually do not write reviews for children's books but I just had to pass on my feelings because this book is a definitely a diamond in the ruff!

So cute for a Halloween read. 7 year old son loved it and did his presentation for his class on this book. Boys love to talk about eyeballs and guts. Read morePublished 6 months ago by E. Mcgettigan
