Make your bones, get this book,
By Daniel Lee Taylor "dan57" (GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Bones: Buried Deep (Paperback)
I have been a fan of Collins for many years. His Heller novels always thrilled and entertained. He also had written many screenplay novelizations, so its natural to do some TV also. I like the show this is based on and also the novels the show is based on. There is a vast difference between the writings of Kathy Reich and this novel. Not better nor worse, just different. Collins captures the feel of the show with no problem and actually fleshes out the characters (no pun intended) in a way TV cannot. If you enjoy the show or have never seen it, you will find this a good read.

Dynamic Series - Lackluster Novel,
By Kristen Howard "Literary Shark" (Edmonds, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bones: Buried Deep (Paperback)
Right away the novel disappointed me. The author is supposed to be writing about characters on the hit Fox series "Bones." Yet the man can't even get David Boreanaz' eye color right. They are black/brown, not piercing blue. For me, someone who watched "Bones" and consequently bought the book because of Boreanaz, that pretty much put a damper on what proved to be a fairly lackluster novel. Its all right if the cases portrayed are easy to figure out, because its the character dynamic that carries the show. Sadly, the book also lacked that connection between the characters, making reading this book somewhat a chore. Maybe after the author watches several episodes of the series, he'll be better able to capture the characters next time ... and maybe get their eye colors right.

Worse Novelization Ever,
By Darla Heart "English Teacher" (Deep South) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bones: Buried Deep (Paperback)
For fans of "Bones," this book will be a horrendous disappointment. It is so badly written that it amazes me that the author was tapped to do this--maybe he came cheap? The pathetic author cannot even find words to describe something as simple as clothing, since he repeats those descriptions over and over and over. The author is obviously ignorant of forensics because there are NONE covered in the book. There are glaring errors such as Booth's blue eyes and Zach Addy's glasses which makes me question whether the author has ever even seen "Bones." I can only hope that the PTB pick a better author for the next novel.
