I recently discovered Boney M via another "Greatest Hits" collection. I was floored, fell in love with this archetype of Discoteque, and thought my collection was sitting pat.

And then I came across this particular compilation.

The extended version of "Rasputin" alone is worth the investment in this 2 CD set. Once you hear the full-frills cut of the tune starting with a thundering "wake-up" style instrumental, the quickie version will forever sound incomplete to your ears.

While I am not a huge fan of Remixes, I must admit that the modern takes on "Daddy Cool" and "Ma Baker" are done well enough that I won't dive for the "next track" button when they spin. The medley on Disc 2 is a little lackluster, but I must say that track is the only tune I found flat. They do an absolutely beautiful cover of The Seekers' classic "The Carnival Is Over," which I must say (with apologies to any Seekers fans out there) is more touching than the original.

If you never listened to Boney M before, this is a must buy CD. This IS dance music!!

Over the past 20 years, I have purchased all Boney M cd's. From Canada this is not easy. This is by far the best collection ever released, especially the remix bonuses. They have this most amazing sound, with Miss Liz Mitchell on lead vocals. The music is upbeat, puts a smile on my face and reminds me of when the world was a kinder and more gentle place. I put Boney M's music int he same catagory as ABBA. ALL THE WAY ON TOP.

Wow what a great cover.
Again a new compilation of Boney M and a good track listing.
Boney M music is just timeless
The proof new compilation releases always again.
Also the track listing on this cd is the track listing that was chosen bye the LIZ MITCHELL FAN CLUB on an earlier release for the cd 25 jaar na Daddy Cool ore The Ultimate Collection.
