Product Description

Pocket Auctions for eBay is a fast, attractive, and full-featured eBay application for buyers to monitor auctions and bid or buy right from their Android devices. This Winner of eBay's Star Developer Award has bid timer countdowns, auction ending notifications, access to auction listings for buying, selling, and messages in My eBay, a powerful search function with easy price comparison, barcode scanning, and international support.

The interface is simple and the functionality has everything the average eBayer will need. Login to your eBay account, or register right from your device, and you're ready to start. Want to find the best deals? Search among Active listings (or scan a barcode for a specific item) to find what you're looking for, and compare your finds with Ended listings and off-eBay retailers to find average sale prices. You can also view Maximum, Median, and Minimum sale prices on eBay to confirm just how great a deal you're getting.

The auctions that you decide to watch and bid on can viewed in a simplified format or in full HTML, with a separate pop-up window for best image viewing. Like what you see? Bid or Buy It Now right from Pocket Auctions for eBay. Set a notification to remind you to bid 15 minutes prior to an auction's end.

Want to get even more involved in the eBay community of sellers and buyers? Go to the Live Chat pages, where you can step in and post to The Cafe, a discussion board where people talk about their wares and warn others of untrustworthy sellers. You can also hop over to the Q&A board and post questions and answers for others.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bumfire Media: A HUGELY UNPROFESSIONAL company March 26, 2013
I have been using this app for a while and IMO it is the best one I have found if you are a buyer but it doesn't allow you to sell and the message functionality is lacking.
However, the Live Chat section includes 2 chatrooms and is dominated by 2 users mainly: ichagi & darthyugga/yuggalodeep (this user changes their name often) also another, hilton occasionally. It appears the 1st two work for Bumfire Media since they claim to know an awful lot of rumours about what they r up to plus they are USA based and are able to access & use the UK Q&A room. They are highly abusive to nearly everyone and if you happen to ask a random question they may answer but then also add in something to slag/belittle/patronise you especially if they judge you to be a 'n00b' or you have asked something they think is stupid (which is pretty much all the time). If you decide to stand up for yourself, as many do, then you will be hit with a barrage of abuse - usually about getting anally penetrated by your dad (ichagi seems to be obsessed by this), swearing and they will bring other users into the net and slag you all off together.

There is no point trying to hit back at these idiots in the chatroom since it gets nowhere, they will go through ALL your previous ebay feedback one by one and hit you with abuse specifically commenting on what you may have bought/sold before. I have even gotten racially motivated abuse & threats commenting on my auctions suggesting I would not know who was actually bidding on them - basically they may mess up your auctions with their other usernames as they seem to have a few each, if not, other minion frends who will do this for them.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's so-so August 10, 2013

First: The only reason I deleted the official ebay app is because when your screen WiFi and Data are turned off, the app still runs in the background and drains your battery big time. If you Google you'll find many other people have experienced this. My battery would go from 100% to 80% or less overnight when the phone wasn't even being used and data and WiFi toggled off. I tested my phone using an app called "Better Battery Stats" which reveled the eBay app to be the culprit of the battery drain. Uninstalled it and no more battery drain.

Second: Pocket Auctions for eBay is a decent app for browsing only, how anyone can say it's better than the official ebay app is beyond me. You can't even sell using it! (which I didn't know before downloading, my fault). Plus you have very limited account access/options compared to the official ebay app. The official ebay app was my favorite app on my phone, the layout, the simplicity and ease of use, the options, the look, etc. Selling was a BREEZE.

The Pocket Auctions interface is simple and self-explanatory. But after you do a search and want to do a new search you either have to tap "refine" at the top of the page which opens a new window or you have to go back to the home page of the app to start a new search, there is no search box on top of every page! Why the extra steps?

Once you find an item you're interested in, you need to click on the "Item Description" and you get two options, Simple or Full HTML. Simple mode is basic text describing the auction, but with no option to contact the seller to ask a question.

I like the easy to use interface and layout better then the eBay app!

That is all that I had to say but this app makes me type in a minimal amount of words so I am wasting my time adding this.
