5.0 out of 5 stars You Can Use on Yourself
Finally, something you can use on yourself, it reaches my back perfectly. Sometimes you just need a few bongs here and there to relax any stiffness on your back.

Good price, I mean they last!

(Great for gift-giving too... someone gave them to me for my birthday, and that was 10 years ago and they're still working fine)

3.0 out of 5 stars helpful addition to home therapy tools
I have as many gadgets and "self-therapy" tools as I do chronic pain. I have myofascial pain as well as fibromyaglia and arthritis, as well as headaches and back pain.
I feel the Bongers are better suited for some parts of the body than others. When I have tried it on my neck for head pain or neck pain, I find it more irritating than helpful.
I am not certain...

I am not certain I am using proper techniques, and I find it easier to use on my legs, arms and feet. My husband has no interest in it at all, and he didn't care for it.
For the parts of my back that I can reach, as well as the places I already mentioned, it feels good. Not good like a massage feels, just good like it may be increasing blood flow, etc.
It isn't a soothing feeling at all. But when you have very bad pain to begin with, it feels better to do anything that helps even a little.
I would only recommend it with the stipulation that you shouldn't expect pain relief by using it.
FYI: the instructions do tell you to stay away from the kidneys.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 deep aches that need new vibration, March 15, 2006

if you're the kind of person who only likes the lite circulatory massage these aren't for you. if you need a good pounding to loosen things up it's great to have a simple tool to use to do it on yourself. great on hips, thighs, back, neck, and some acupressure points (then roll on tennis balls to get all the other spots).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for chair massage!, October 18, 2009

I barely have to move my arms to generate the percussion needed. I use them at the end of my chair massage routine and costumers love it. They save me energy and do so much for so little work.

As for on myself, I use them on my quads and traps some times, but they seem mostly geared towards using them on other people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, September 21, 2008

These are really easy to use, you don't have to hit hard with them to get good effect. My husband has a back like a plank of wood and it's impossible (for me, a non-masseuse) to give him a massage that does any good. These let me help him out without fatiguing myself or giving me hand cramps... we had a "thumper" kind of hand-held version of this but the kickback from it made it really hard for me to use on him as I got tired very quickly. These are so much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Product, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Bongers Massage Tool
This is a great product. I originally bought them as a Christmas gift for my aunt who is pregnant (and always sore) I ended up giving them to her in the beginning of November because she was so miserable. She loves them so much. Unfortunately, I have been the one stuck using them on her back (EVERY SINGLE DAY :( ), but it could be worse I suppose. Last week I was starting to feel sick, and she massaged me with the "bongers" I was so sore, and it actually prevented me from getting any more sick. These tools are a lifesaver!....and best of all they are the gift that keeps on giving.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fall apart all the time, require constant repair., September 29, 2011
This review is from: Bongers Massage Tool
The metal spring neck comes detached from the handle all the time. Can fly off at an unpredictable angle. There are very similar items that are less expensive and don't fall apart. The bongers are relatively easy to fix with epoxy but should come made better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bong away your tension and pain., January 24, 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bongers Massage Tool
These things are great, I use them on my shoulders/neck area, and back (but not the kidneys!). You know how tension and stress build up in your neck and shoulder area? A bit of bonging, for short periods but frequently throughout the work day really help. It's not as good as a massage, but then it doesn't cost $50 to $100 either! They help you get through the time to your next massage. You can get these cheap in Chinatown, but these Bongers are better- they have a better feel to them, they're heftier, and the metal strip that attaches the ball to the handle is more sturdy than the cheap ones. I keep a pair at my desk at work, and two co workers keep coming by to use them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, April 14, 2009
This review is from: Bongers Massage Tool
Really nice product. If you like to have someone chop you or beat you with their hands when you have tight muscles, you'll like this product. It doesn't use as much energy as using your hands and arms and supplies the same results. It really works the kinks out. I've seen some reviews that said the bongos on irritate there sore spot, but I feel if you use them lightly they work great. You don't need to beat yourself with them. But overall I highly recommend this product for those of you that have muscle aches often. Either a partner can uses them or you can uses them on yourself.
