Todo me parece bonito! Get ready to Dance!,

I love this CD! Jarabe de Palo has matured into a quality group of musicians. This cd offers the unique sound of Jarabe de Palo but I found that the music is a little more complex than their previous cd's. This is a happy CD! You will feel like dancing when listening to it. It has so many different rithms and sounds! Bonito (the most advertised song of the cd) is similar to other JP hits like Depende. But there are surprises on the album. The cd opens with Ying-Yang, a song that combines Jarabe de Palo Pop sound with a creative use of the acordeon sort of New Orleans' Zydeco or Colombia's vallenato rithms.Corazon, the last song is so beautiful. Pop and traditional at the same time! If you like Jarabe de Palo, this is one of their best cd's.

Awesome... one of my top ten albums!,

Jarabe de Palo have changed their sound for the better. The voice of frontman Pau remains as delightfully dry as ever, and the lyrics are normally right on, but we see right from "Yin Yan" that the general flavor of the band's music has changed. If songs like "De Vuelta y Vuelta" left you feeling just a bit depressed despite their technical brilliance, then you NEED to listen to the upbeat tracks on "Bonito" that, ultimately, are just more fun to listen to than anything this band has put out before. The hooks and instrumentals are still near-perfect. It's tough to get "Como Peces En El Agua" and "No Se Estar Enamorado" out of one's mental stereo after a few listens. The band takes a risk with this album, but judging by its success in Spain most people are responding quite well. Buy it.

Fantastic at all levels,

This is just a fantastic fusion of elements, from the accordion on "Yin-yang" that sits neatly in the space between zydeco and vallenato to the barrage of well-crafted rhythms from Spain, Brazil and the carribean (that I pick up on anyway) in Bonito. This was my first intro to Jarabe de Palo, after hearing Bonito on the radio which made me rush to the store for itThese songs for the most part aren't actually love songs, but are more philosophical statements on difficulties in life (appropriate enough for an artist whose stagename is a term for a beating, I suppose.) Bonito, for example, has the verse: Things go poorly, life is heavy/living like this isn't interesting/ carrying on like this isn't worth it/ Lose love and the party's over/ the motor that spins the world is broken/life is a joke with a sad ending, and the pure doesn't exist, which is why I say "beautiful, everything is beautiful" This is a very, very infectious album and completely refreshing on a whole bunch of levels. Get it. Now!

I stumbled upon this group when I was researching spanish pop culture for one of my classes. Man is it good! I nonchalantly ordered the CD, and to my surprise it ended up being one of my most favorite of all time. The songs make me feel good. I love Bonito, Corazon, Bailar, and my utmost favorite on the CD is Palabras que se esconden. Great ballad. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is thinking about buying it.

I was a bit skeptical buying this one but since I love the song bonito I decided to take a chance! It's great! Reminds me of carlos vives and even juanes at certain points throughout the album but in my opinion better! Worth checking out!

I bought this cd when it came out hoping it would be as good as the old ones. But I have tried to like it, forcing myself to listen to the songs, but they are cheesy, the only one that is ok is "Aun no me toca". La Flaca, was their best album ever, I guess they set the bar too high with La Flaca and now they can't do anything as good. Depende was ok but after that I don't know whats wrong with this group. I still listen to La Flaca even though I've been listening to it since it came out all the time, thats how good it is.
