5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and delicious
I'm really lazy when it comes to making coffee at home and I've been drinking terrible coffee out of a timer drip machine for awhile, just so it would be ready when I wake up. The extra 5 minutes that it takes to boil the water and wait for the coffee to brew in this press are so worth it that the old machine is gone for good. There is so much flavor using this press,...

There is so much flavor using this press, and the coffee is deliciously rich and dark. The frother works in seconds (I warm up my milk first for an easy, kind-of-cheating cappuccino). The carafe is supposed to be unbreakable and the pieces are easy to throw in the dishwasher.

I purchased this cute little -- 3 cup -- coffee press a couple of years ago because I make coffee only occasionally. It did make good coffee for a while and then, after several months of intermittent use, coffee grounds began creeping into the coffee. Soon it became evident why: the filter was falling apart. Rather than the sturdy one piece metal and mesh that the Bodum coffee press uses, Bonjour uses plastic, fabric mesh and a silicon gasket. Once the gasket stretches out it will not stay on filter...and I always washed the filter by hand. The plastic container has also been a disappointment. As with most plastic washed in a dishwasher, it has become cloudy and dull looking. Even the spout of the Bonjour is so shallow that pouring a cup of coffee without dripping is impossible. Bottom line: it's a throw-away coffee press. If you like coffee prepared in a press, shop for something better and not that much more expensive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not really worth it., January 25, 2008

I purchased this press for camping, and was initially happy with the performance. However, after only a few uses and only hand-washing, the filter started falling apart. The gasket wouldn't stay on, the screen fell out, and eventually the whole assembly fell off of the push-stem. We now have the Bodum 8-cup Stainless Thermal Press Pot and could not be happier with it. It's really worth spending a little extra to get something that lasts.

The filter screen assembly will and does break.
There is no way to get a replacement under warranty, because NO ONE can find the place to send it back to. The company hides themselves well.
It's not a Bodum which as stated before, uses a metal screen assembly.
Why do engineers use plastic on the most stressful parts that 'will' break.
Morons.

Again,

5.0 out of 5 stars Great French Press and Frother, January 27, 2008
This review is from: Bonjour Hugo 2-Piece Coffee Press and Frother Set (Kitchen)
My husband bought this press for me. The coffee it makes is excellent, espcially if you like strong coffee. The filter at the spout is a great touch and one of the reasons I chose this brand. This is the easiest and most flavorful way to make coffee. I have even used the store bought coffees in it and it works great.

The frother is a nice touch. It froths even better than the frother on our espresso maker, and is easier to use. I accidently over whipped some heavy whipping cream too much one time and made cool whip, which was great on top of the cappucinos. All in all it is a great product, really the only complaint is that for two people it is a little small, but is so easy to use that we can always make more if we need it.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone, especially anyone who is looking for a change from drip coffee makers. The coffee tastes better and the clean up is a snap.

I really like this coffee press, I have been using it for months now and I only need 1 or 2 cups of coffee in the morning. This is perfect for what I need. It washes out easily but you do have to put the coffee into an insulated cup to keep it warm for longer periods of time, I drink my coffee slow. The next one I get will be stainless steel to keep it hot longer, but I bought this one because it was a great price and does the job. I recommend this to anyone who wants a better tasting coffee.

We recently purchased the Bonjour Hugo 2-Piece Coffee Press and Frother Set and absolutely love it! Even though the french press has had mixed reviews I ordered this set anyway because it was the same price or less than many of the frothers alone. The frother is powerful and easy to control and the french press works like a charm and is well made. If used correctly, I cannot see it falling apart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coffee press, March 25, 2009
This review is from: Bonjour Hugo 2-Piece Coffee Press and Frother Set (Kitchen)
I bought the Bonjour Hugo coffee press with frother. The size is perfect for me as I do not make a lot of coffee at a time. I haven't used the frother yet. Coffee made in this coffee press does not get bitter like it does in an electric pot because it doesn't cook. I love it and would buy from this seller again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Small but good, September 10, 2008
This review is from: Bonjour Hugo 2-Piece Coffee Press and Frother Set (Kitchen)
The picture makes this press look larger than it is. It is pretty small, when they say six cups, they mean 6 actual cups in liquid measure, not 6 giant caffeine frenzy cups, which most coffee drinkers think of as a cup. Of course, this was an oversight I made, they aren't being untruthful about the 6 cups. Other than that, the frother is fun to use and works well. Coffee still tastes great, plus you get to feel sophisticated when pouring it out of your press.

4.0 out of 5 stars good press, February 22, 2011

you cant go wrong with a press. it simply presses. and i like how the coffee's natural oil is retained as a flavor and smell, and texture. to heck with paper filter!
the aerating thingy....interesting. it makes a bit of foam. i think to best use it you should have the device or milk at a 45 degree angle and dip it in at the edge of the liquid, pulling it out as the foam rises. this will probably yield the most foam.
happy coffee!
