5.0 out of 5 stars Bonkers X is awesome, July 16, 2003

If you are looking for some faster electronic music, this is it! Mixed by Hixxy, Sharkey, and Scott Brown, these CD's have mainly freeform/upfront hardcore but there is some breakbeat hardcore and newstyle gabber as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE DEFINITIVE, November 20, 2004

A year ago this album introduced me properly to happy/hard and I felt it's now time to page homage. Aside from being a MAJOR HIXXY fan and getting a little excited because GODSPEED is on in 7 days, where Hixxy, Scotty, Sharkey, Brisk, Kevin Energy, Billy Bunter, Ams and K Complex are appearing (Sydney, Australia 27 / 11 / 04), this is the best album ever produced. Beginning with DJ Hixxy, showcases some of the best happyhard tracks ever produced including 'Bullet in the Gun' and 'Pretty Green Eyes'. It also includes the greatest dance track ever produced - 'You're Shining.' After having listened to this cd every day for about 8 months (very unusual) i feel qualified to say that this is the greatest happy/hard compilation ever created.

We then progress to Sharkey's mix. Although not a fan of freeform this cd develops into something worth listening to. Although very very fast (often too fast in my opinion), by track 14('Pilgrim') the mix is going hardcore mental!

Finally it finished with Scotty's mix. Starting off happy, it progresses through the hardcore and gabba styles. At no point during this cd can you forget that you're at the hands of the HARD master. The mix begins to rap up with a real winner 'Tha Bounce' and then spoils audiences (READ: SAVED THE VERY BEST TILL LAST) with in my opinion the most ELECTRIFYING HARDCORE track every produced - 'How else can I say it'.

Hixxy's mix WILL bring u to peak, Sharkey's will stress you out, and Scotty's will energise you beyond words. Buy it boys.

- And if you live in sydney, get your arse down to godspeed next week, dr*gs or no dr*gs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD collection for your bouncy raves!, May 8, 2004

This collection of 3 CDs is a good bargain for the quality and variety that you get. The genre is Hardcore or Happy Hardcore, depending on who you ask, but it mainly means fast (150 BPM+) and heavy beats. There is some breakbeat stuff mixed in but it is primarily hardcore, driving beats. Good stuff for spinning, raving, or any other high-energy things you feel like doing.

I was playing it in my truck and I had a group of teenagers nearby start dancing around and giving me the thumbs-up so this must be the popular stuff for the teen raves now. To fully appreciate the music, make sure you have a good subwoofer so you can "feel" the bass.
