Gr 3-5-Two attractive, easy-to-read biographies. In Bonnie Blair, the life of the tenacious and modest young woman who captured the hearts of the American public during the Lillehammer Olympics is presented in six short chapters. Simple, interesting sentences clearly describe her efforts and the assistance and support she received from key people in her skating life. Morgan provides an overview of the development of the basketball superstar, his successes and problems, and plenty of on-court play-by-play, written in a sometimes choppy style. Nonetheless, the highs and lows of Mullin's life permit readers to identify with him on a human level. Both books have good quality, full-color and black-and-white photographs, including many action shots, and appealing covers.
