Editorial Reviews

Digitally remastered reissue of the Canadian Folk singer's 1969 album. Best known as the writer of the apocalyptic '60s Folk-Rock standard "Morning Dew", Canadian Bonnie Dobson became a mover on the Chicago and New York Folk revival scenes and released five albums in the acoustic folk style between 1960 and 1964. She returned to Toronto in 1965 and continued playing the coffee house circuit without recording any more albums. This is the first time on CD for this Folk-Rock jewel! Includes the author's own version of her standard "Morning Dew" alongside songs by Fred Neil, Jackson C Frank and Dino Valente. Features in-depth liner notes with brand new interview material. Rev-Ola.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back Again January 15, 2007
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is not for folk purists only! Bonnie Dobson has a beautiful sparkling voice with a haunting quality that stays with you. Her classic song, "Morning Dew" is here and that alone is worth the price of admission but her renditions of "Let's Get Together", "I Got Stung", and " Rainy Windows", are such great cuts that you wonder why her albums have remained in limbo so long. She is now back and we can listen to her great voice once more. You can only wish for more and it is coming. Too bad it took so long!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bought this as a Gift for my Wife December 18, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I becames a fan of Dobson in the 1970's, by way of Bob Dylan. Her soaring vocal range is in a class by itself, and her haunting lyrics will never leave you. The orchestral backing may seem corny today, but it's a good example of what things were like back when Hippies roamed the Earth, and we didn't take ourselves so seriously.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bonnie Dobson review May 6, 2007
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Although I enjoyed this album, I prefer her older albums Dear Companion and She's Like a Swallow - wish they were still available!

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor Bonnie... April 6, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is a "nice" CD...not a great CD...
Her voice is pleasent but not great...

I have listened to her over the years on LP but I never had a CD...dumped all my LP's about 20 years ago...
Stumbled across her again and got this CD...

If you like early 60's folk, and are a bit of a collector, you will probably want this...
Otherwise, maybe not...
