Great collection of Bonnie's music,
By
This review is from: Bonnie Tyler - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Bonnie never achieved consistent success in Britain or America, though she has fared better in Germany. This compilation includes all Bonnie's British and American hits and a selection of her other songs.
The hits include Lost in France, More than a lover, It's a heartache, Married men, Total eclipse of the heart, Faster than the speed of night, Have you ever seen the rain, A rocking good way (with Shaking Stevens), Holding out for a hero and Loving you is a dirty job. The track that Bonnie's committed fans will want this album for is Tyre tracks and broken hearts - it doesn't appear on any of Bonnie's original albums but is taken from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle down the wind. Of the other non-hits, I was particularly pleased to find Bitterblue included. This was a German hit in the early nineties and sparked a revival in Bonnie's career in continental Europe, especially Germany. Goodbye to the island, the title track of her last RCA album, is another excellent choice. Straight from the heart was not a UK hit but was probably a hit somewhere and deserves inclusion. Piece of my heart, Making love out of nothing at all and My guns are loaded are all great songs, superbly performed by Bonnie, but I would have preferred Islands (a Mike Oldfield track featuring Bonnie as vocalist), Louisiana rain (my favorite among her unsuccessful RCA singles) and The best (a Bonnie Tyler original recording that failed to chart until Tina Turner covered it, when it became a major worldwide hit - you may know it as Simply the best). Despite my reservations, this is a very strong collection, which provides a great introduction to Bonnie's music. There are plenty of other compilations around so any other tracks that you want (including Islands, Louisiana rain and The best) are easy to find if you want them.

Bonnie Tyler - Greatest Hits,

This review is from: Bonnie Tyler - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
By far, this is my favorite of her CDs and has been added to my collection. It includes a
favorite from years ago, "It's a Heartache" and some new ones that just seem to grow on you. Her voice is just as I remember from years ago so you might say I am an old fan returning again. Seeing her perform "Tire Tracks and Broken Hearts" with other guest artists performing songs by Andrew L. Webber in celebration of his 50th birthday was a reminder of how much I had enjoyed listening to her and look forward to many more hours of great music from her.

Broken Hearts No More,
This review is from: Bonnie Tyler - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I have been looking for the song "Tyre Tracks and Broken Hearts" ever since my friend had me listen to it on a burnt cd she had of several different artists. I fell in love with the song, but had to do research to find out who sang it, and spent the next three years looking for the song. This song is definately the highlight of the album, and is her best work next to "Holding out for a Hero" which is also on this album. I love Bonnie Tyler, and this has to be the best CD that she has ever put out

I have been a Bonnie Tyler fan for years. She sings both country and rock 'n' roll. The highlight of this album is "Tyre Tracks And Broken Hearts" This is the only Bonnie Tyler cd that includes this song.

Lovin' the 80's,

This WOULD have been a great CD if I had received the correct one. When I ordered this CD, it had all the songs listed as specified in the remarks section of this page as to what's on the CD. However, when I went and listened to the CD, the songs that were listed on the back of the case, were not that of the CD - it was the same line up as Super Hits: Bonnie Tyler. I still love the CD, but I was bummed to have the wrong CD packed in the CD case. Beware of imports and check your products!

Could've been better,

Nice collection, but their are already so many Bonnie Tyler compilations out there. This one shoulda dropped some of the earlier stuff and added "Save Up All Your Tears", "If You Were A Woman", "Band Of Gold", "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad". But it is nice to get "Tire Tracks and Broken Hearts" on a Bonnie cd, so that is a plus! I really thik they should have also included the FULL version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and not the single version. And checkout Bonnie's new lips on the photos, she sorta looks like a drag queen on the cover photos, but the others are much nicer, but I can't get past her lips!!! Definitely not the same!

I've been looking for Tyre Tracks and Broken Hearts ever since I watched her sing it on Andrew Lloyd Weber's 50th birthday party on PBS! At first there was absolutely no information on the web ... at least none that in any of the search engines. I went to her 'official' site, and about a million unofficial ones, but nothing mentioned it at all. I kept lookng, and finally something showed up that said it would be 'on her next album, but no word yet what or when that will be' ... So I waited, and I searched, and I waited, and I .... anyway, I'd given in to frustration and let it slip to a back burner (sort of).
So today I give it another shot -- and hell! there's references to it all over the place, name of the album and everything... And it's unavailable! *WAAAAAHHH* I really want this album. By the way, just as an aside: When I bought Heaven and Hell, I was a little disappointed. Not because I didn't like the album -- I do! But I was really hoping to hear them singing _together_! I grew up listening to Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler, and I always thought their voices would sound so good _blended_.. I'd _love_ to hear them sing a duet.
