Very handy & convenient!!,

I love this book!!! It is full of information that is available in your very own pocket size. The cover is a semi-hard yet flexible plastic that withstands all sorts of abuse during clinical times. Great size to fit perfectly in pocket. Everyone that has used this handy book has just raved about it. I have met techs that have had this book for 3+ years and theirs have held up to all types of abuse also! It really is informative! A "must have" for all rad techs!

Book review,
This review is from: Bontrager's Pocket Atlas-Handbook of Radiographic Positioning and Techniques, 4th Edition (Spiral-bound)
This pocket edition is invaluable for learning radiographic positioning in a clinical setting. It has many of the features of the larger, classroom edition but is small enough to carry with you during the day. As a student, I use it as a quick reference.

Botranger's Pocket Atlas,

This review is from: Bontrager's Pocket Atlas-Handbook of Radiographic Positioning and Techniques, 4th Edition (Spiral-bound)
This book helped me a lot with my radiographic positioning class in radiography school. It also served as a very efficient study source for the arrt examination. Also, the weight and size of this book makes it quite easy to carry around-unlike some heavy textbooks.
If you want some awesome study questions for the arrt examination, I recommend: The Ultimate Study Guide for the Registry Examination in Radiography:Key Review Questions and Answers Volume 1, 2 and 3 by Patrick Leonardi. These 3 volumes helped me to pass the arrt examination the first time.

My school used Merrils for positioning, but Bontrager gives me more. It shoes blocker and marker placement. It gives an outline of the anatomy and centering points in the beginning of each section. It outlines centering points on the model (iliac crest) that you can't see.
The only thing I wish it would include is evaluation criteria and perhaps a photo of the radiograph, but I guess that would make the book bigger. All in all, a great studying/learning tool.

Had I known it didn't contain radiographs, I would have bought a different book. Otherwise, for its size, its a great help.

I found this book to be very helpful as I have been out of the radiology profession for a very long time and it will help to re-orient me to positioning..however...I feel something VERY IMPORTANT is not demonstrated. The book should show what the radiograph should look like if done properly. I will have no way of knowing from this book if I have a good radiograph or not. Pictures need to be included that demonstrate this.

The best "little" book ever...,

I just graduated from xray school and this book was a lifesaver. If at any time when I was in clinicals and couldn't remember how to do something, I would just pull out this nifty little book and refresh my memory. The best part about the book to me was the area at the bottom of every positioning page to put your own techniques. Being in 6 different clinical facilities, this book helped out a lot.

I am a Rad. Tech. returning to a clinical environment from a long hiatus. This pocket reference book has been extremely helpful in refreshing my memory, and will stay with me for a long time to come. The fourth edition includes the new advances in technology like digital radiography which is a large part of my new job.

This book is a good thing to have for students while doing their clinical rounds. It is a handy quick reference to check for proper positioning. It is a convenient size. I think each page needs some more room for personal notes. Overall, It is a useful resource.
