This is the first Jon Schmidt cd I've owned....but it won't be my last! This cd rocks. Love it.
It has soothing as well as upbeat songs. The thing I like the most is it sounds like they're having fun, which is what it's all about. Life--having fun. I purchased this because I had heard them perform 'Love Story' on you tube and it is my favorite song Jon and Steve Nelson (cello) play.

EDIT: I've been listening to this CD, and I have to admit it is growing on me. I still do not believe it is Jon Schmidt's best CD, but I feel my review was a little too harsh previously. Even though some of the tracks are not mastered quite as well as mentioned in my original review, they are worthwhile purchases for those who enjoy Jon Schmidt's style.

To be honest, writing this review really pains me because there is not enough good that can be written about Jon Schmidt's piano arrangements and showmanship.

However, I found this CD to be very very disappointing. The majority of the CD was repackaged tracks from some of his other CDs, free tracks that you can download from the Jon Schmidt website, or live tracks that were recorded with poor digital mastering (significant digital artifacts).

I would recommend buying the single Love Story meets Love Story track and maybe a couple of the others like Snowy River, and Charlie Brown, and save yourself some money. This is very disappointing for me because up until now every single track on every single Jon Schmidt CD has been original and a pleasure to listen too.

I am a big fan of Jon Schimdt, after discovering him through one of my pandora stations! In my opinion this is his best CD so far. I love how it combines some more up beat songs, such as "road trip" and "Dumb Song" with some slower ones such as "Jessica's Theme (from Man From Snowy River)" and " Long Long Ago". As a pianist myself I love hearing really good pianists play. I also love how Steven Sharp Nelson is featured in several songs.( If your a fan of Jon's Check out "The Piano Guys Channel- which features Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson" on youtube.com, so see several of the songs featured on this "Bonus Tracks" CD. This one of my favorite CDs!

Most of Jon's stuff is amazing - this is no different. I love listening to it over and over again.
