Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

As Boo and Baa read scary goodnight books in their bunk beds, the lights suddenly go out. "What now? What happened?" It was lightning! This wouldn't be so bad--it might even have been cozy--except that they both simultaneously realize that they left the croquet set outside. "We have to go out and get it," says Baa. This begins the tale of how wet Boo and Baa get. Frightened by the bathrobes on the clothesline (Boo thinks they are ghosts), they dive into their plastic mini swimming pool, getting even wetter. Back inside, they wonder whether non-bathrobe ghosts may really exist. "Boo!" says Boo. "Baa..." says Baa, just as the lights come on again. We adore Olof and Lena Landstrom's simple, but wonderfully nuanced Boo and Baa books, including Boo and Baa in the Woods. (Baby to preschool) --Karin Snelson

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-Grade 1-These satisfying little books feature two droll sheep that manage to muddle through everyday mishaps to live happily ever after. In Get Wet, they encounter a thunderstorm and menacing shapes in the dark. Still, they manage to retrieve their croquet set, though everything, including the sheep, gets a good soaking. Ants and a creek present obstacles to a picnic in Woods, but a patch of yummy blueberries saves the day. These slim books are ideal for young listeners and could also be used as beginning readers. Each page has a sentence or two and a picture that clearly illustrates the action. Boo and Baa's expressive faces stand out and add charm to the simple, pleasing stories.

We are big fans of Olof Landstrom and Boo and Baa so this book did not disappoint. Boo and Baa are two cute little sheep who seem to fall into one escapade after another and, true to form, they have another adventure in this book. There is fun and games, a thunderstorm, and possibly ghosts! What more you could you ask for in a story?

My three year old just loves the Boo and Baa stories and will actually sit still to lisen to them (quite a miracle, I assure you) so I highly recommend this book for those with energetic toddlers if you are trying to teach them to appreciate a good story.

This was the fourth Boo and Baa book I have bought for my kids and they have loved all of them. The illustrations are very well done. The storylines are not overdone and usually deal with some problem-solving.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boo and Baa!, February 18, 2009
This review is from: Boo and Baa Get Wet (Hardcover)
This was our 1st and favorite of the Boo and Baa books. Though they all are wonderful, the appeal of this story has lasted from age 2 to 6. The story is particularly great to read to kids who have a bit of a fear of thunderstorms.
