It has oft times been said that "knowledge is power." If you are a woman, the knowledge may prove EXTREAMLY powerful! However, if you are a man, the information contained herein, while very insightful, will prove to be utterly useless to you! Though you will now know almost every thing in the book that a woman can use to tease, taunt and toy with you, you will still be utterly defenseless in stopping it from happening to you! In reading this book I found that I was as digusted as I was amused. Ms. Brill seems to know almost exactly how most men think and has her finger (if not her whole hand) on a mans pulse and the ensuing blood flow. However, this book is more than about how to tease and taunt. It is also a book of empowerment for women.

While this book is not for every woman, there is much information to be gleened, both do's and don'ts. This book is hard to find, but well worth the search. Just know that, if you are a guy reading this book, you will realize in no short order just how evil and vicious the dating game can be. Forget trying to mount a counter attack; Ms. Brill will help you to understand that we as men are almost completely defensless against a woman's charms!

This was my FAVORITE book when I was in my 20's. Brill is so empowering and funny and charming that you wish she was your best friend or roommate (Unlike my former roommate who stole my copy of this now out of print book [LeAnn, if you're reading this, I want it back!])
Brill gives make-up and fashion tips which are totally 80's and throughly out-of-date, but the main point of the book is to remind you that you are a princess and deserve to spend 6 hours making yourself beautiful.
I wish I still had a copy so that I could fill a tub with warm bubbles, grab a glass of wine and remind myself that pampering is a good thing!

Ladies, Miss Brill's insight into the male psyche is a valuable resource for anyone looking to get a man, keep a man, get a man back,control a man, drive a man crazy, get even with a man, or just have some fun with a man. Take it from a guy (low-life that I am), this was the most humorous (dangerous) book I've ever read! And I'm not trying to kiss-up to Ms. Brill for a date, either!

If you grew up as clueless to the nuances of being a woman as I did, then this book is for you!
Diane Brill includes you in her troupe of babes as she takes you through all the steps of picking out a great guy (GG for short), as well as your first four dates (follow her four date rule, babes..). She'll teach you everything you need about proper lingerine, diet, hair styles and flirting techniques that will ensure you the confidence you need in any and every situation.
"The Rules" wishes it could be this savy! Love it, learn it, live it!

this book changed my life when i bought it on a whim over ten years ago. my life has never been the same. witty, sometimes silly this book is fun! not to mention excellent advice for catching GG's and lingerie. and the pics of manhattans 80's heyday are a must have. if my house was burning down, i would grab this book FIRST! i've bought many and given most away. i still have my original copy and a spare. no one i've given this book to has ever had anything but heaps of praise.

Just a quick note about this book - that has been copied in lots of different ways since it was first published. I had a copy and my friends and I used it as a "bible" to going out and getting ready to go out together. It was a lot of fun - very cute and very "girly". The bad reviews I have read seem to be taking Dianne Brill and the topics a little too seriously - it is meant to be fun. Also, I am looking for another copy as mine has been stolen or "misplaced" - does anyone know where I can get my hands on one?

This is a very fun read for all women. It contains everything you need to know to be a total babe, or as Dianne Brill puts it, a member of the Brill Babe Brigade. This is a guide for flirting with GG:s (great guys), dating them, being the best you can be and so on. Her motto is that all women are babes; they only need to realize it. Beauty moves beyond the stereotypes: feel sexy, and you will be. As a matter of fact, you already are! Brill explores the universe of having fun, which almost always includes a few games. Flirting is not work with Brill; it is a commitment and it most certainly is fun! And pleasurable! For everyone!

This little paperback packs a lot of girl power into its pages, Tongue in cheek but with a message that goes beyong just a 'how to' on attracting GGs (gorgeous guys). Dianne is funny, sexy, affectionate, and generous with her advice, diet tips and confidence boosting for babes or babe wannabes of any age and size.

I bought this book back when it was originally published and found it funny but with little useful information for me. This time I purchased it for a cross-dresser because I thought there would be lots of useful information for him, to help girl him up and it is.
It's also funny and and easy read. I recommend it for boys, gurls and ladies.

I can't believe the only professional review quoted about this book is a bad one. Obviously anyone looking for this book knows how great it is, and how influential it was on young women in the 80's. Dianne Brill was a one woman show who shared her best secrets with everyone. She was an amazing creature who taught me so very much about being a champion for myself. The fashion secrets are usable anytime. It's a wonderful book to keep in the bathroom to read over and over again. Every page is a gem. I've heard she lives in Germany now and has raised a few kids. We miss you Dianne.
