Who are the Dirty Seven Sisters?

The Dirty Seven Sisters are the women, who because of their underlying personality and character flaws, bring unhappiness and chaos into men's lives once they bag their prey. Marshall warns men to move on from them, regardless of their sexual needs and genetic impulse to have children. These women may be sexy and attractive, but they don't have the potential to be true life partners. She bares their character traits that are impossible to live with, why they are impossible, and tells men what to do about them. Conversely, she also describes the excellent qualities of a good mate.

True and Funny

Marshall's humorous take on the absurdities of today's dating scene does not hide her seriousness to revolutionize our approach to dating and mating, which produces a divorce rate of over 50%. She says, "This field guide will give you the tools to recognize and avoid the noxious and obnoxious females who are like Angel of Death mushrooms, beautiful yet deadly. My first reaction when this book arrived was to put the cover in a brown wrapper. In fact, when I read the book on a recent airline trip, I kept the cover face down on the tray.

The cover actually serves a positive purpose, which is to remind men that appearance and availability can make a woman temporarily irresistible. That's part of author June Marshall's message to men: Think about the woman's attitudes and personality . . . not how she looks or how she makes herself available to you.

The rest of the message is what to watch out for. Ms. Marshall suggests that the vast majority of women make perfectly fine dates and wives . . . but there is a small minority that can make a man's life undeservedly miserable.

Two of my nicest male friends ended up married to women like what Ms. Marshall describes, and their lives have never been the same. If those fiascos hadn't happened, I wouldn't have believed that anyone needed this book. But if this advice only saves one nice man from undeserved misery, then it's worth advising most men to read the book.

The categories are mostly self-explanatory according to their titles:

The PMS Queen
Needee Nellie
Material Girl
Shopaholica
The Wedding Belle
The Mom
Psycho Babblers

The one category that requires more explanation is Shopaholica -- she keeps looking for the next guy . . . while stringing you along.

Each chapter contains examples including celebrity women who have made the news for their "bad" behavior in this arena. Without the examples, this would have seemed like a book of fiction. I came away convinced that this information was valuable when I remembered that one of my sons had stumbled onto a Psycho Babbler and had difficulty extracting himself from her grasp.

But it's best to read this book with a light heart. I agree that the vast majority of women are a delight to be with and do their best to make life better for all those around them. God bless all women!

Ms. Marshall has also written a book about the men that women should avoid, The Dirty Dozen: Ladies Beware! I had a chance to listen to Ms. Marshall's music CD based on that book, and her advice seems sound from the other perspective as well.

This is a behavioral treatise on the modern woman, not a pyschological study of how she got that way. When you say she has "issues", she's "neurotic", she has "baggage", shes "insane", all of the "types" are neatly catagorized here for your enlightenment. Of course there's combos and overlap of each variety as she states.

My biggest disagreement with the author is saying this covers only about 10% of all females and if you "try hard enough" you'll find a decent woman within the remaining 90%. Well, you shouldn't have to try that hard if 9 out of 10 women are not a dirty sister. In my lengthy experience with the women of the world I would have say it's the other way around or 9 out of 10 are in some way dirty (by her definition) and you have to work VERY hard to find the "one".

Sorry ladies you're all in there. Exposed in all your wacky glory. The mature, mentally stable, intelligent, balanced, rational woman is an exception indeed. Me, my friends, my relatives and every guy I've ever known; will testify to this. It's not our imaginations. Too many of us who took the plunge with a dirty sister live it every day. It's the reality and it's misery.

Life's too short to spend it with a nut case.

This book is fantastic. Extremely insightful and informative, and so entertaining that you can't put it down. This is one of a kind. Coldly logical, scathingly accurate, yet sharply comical. It is so brutal in its anti "female-logic" position, that it is hard to believe that it was written by a woman. But, apparently it was.
"The Dirty Seven" women are going to FREAK OUT when they find out that one of their own not only has their number, but has also spilled the beans!
***Do NOT play the dating game without this book!*** You've been warned!

I also recommend "The Predatory Female," as it goes into more detail about what you will experience if you wind up with one of the Dirty Seven.
