Great Choice for the Frisbee Slayer,
By
This review is from: Booda Floppy Disc, 10-Inch (Misc.)
After some time destroying a plastic frisbee every day or two, we first made the switch to the Kong Flyer, which lasted a while but was really too heavy. I had to throw it fast to keep it in the air, and she couldn't keep up with it.So I bought this one, even though I figured she'd tear right through it. Surprisingly though, it has held together (for the most part) for months! It's really light, so it's great for big lumbering dogs such as mine. She can bend it, bite it, do the head-shake-death-grip-kill maneuver on it, and it comes out fine every time. The only weakness is when she steps on it and then grabs the side in her mouth and tries to rip it upwards. She does this a lot (a few times a day), and she has made a number of small holes in it, but it still flies fine. I just tell her to "drop it" when she starts doing that. Also, I take it away from her after our frisbee session. I'd recommend that, because if she had time to play with it on her own, it probably wouldn't last. I've added a couple of product photos.

Border Collies second best friend,

My border collie (Katie) loves this disc. We have given her about 6 other frisbees and she hates them.. wont even pick them up in her mouth. I machine wash it but it does fade... i think to keep it in good shape... i would need to buy about 3 per year.. but well worth it. i would think a vet would approve also... easier on the teeth.

Big Floppy Disc, Small Floppy Dog,
By
This review is from: Booda Floppy Disc, 12-Inch (Misc.)
My dog loves this toy, i will throw and she will chase it and bring it back like the good dog she is. The ONLY problem is that she is a quite small (only about a foot off the ground) and sometimes has to hold the disc and tilt her head to the side to make sure she doesn't trip over it when running back (which she does sometimes, and it is quite cute to see). I would recommend this product to any active dog owner, but smaller dogs might want a smaller toy to go fetch.

Bulldog loves it but be prepared to replace,

This is my bulldog puppy's favorite toy. However, he's on the third one in a matter of weeks because his chewing and pulling on it tears the seams, which causes the tubing inside to come out. But, to me it's worth it, because he loves it.

Best Soft disc for medium winds,

Meet my dog, Cooper. He is a classic catch n' fetch 100% Lab. He will only use the Booda 12 inch soft disc. The disc is good sized, but in high winds, its a joke...you might as well use a tennis ball. But for the disc dog experts, this one is much easier to use and your not trashing your dogs gums with a hard style disc. You can get 30-40 yards on easy throwing. This isn't like your typical Ultimate 165g disc...you are not going to be throwing any bombs unless the wind is at your back and the throw is level. The disc is drool resistant and washable. Cooper always leaves it dripping after our limit of 20 throws (he would take more, but we control his obsessions) I've have had about five of these and my biggest complaint is..they are expensive. Yes, they work well and so the expense disappears over time, but when you see all those $5 disc out there and you're paying $15-22...it gets to you like saying "What am I doing buying this dog a $20 disc?" But I do and you should too. He is worth it. It must be good if I keep buying the same brand. Don't bother with the smaller ones. They cannot work as well as the 12 inch. Even little dogs deserved to be treated as they were bigger. Get the 12" one. The disc itself is extremely durable...I dont recommend it if you are caught getting into any tug of wars with it, so if that describes your dog, this disc will last a few hours. A few of ours have been dedicated to the Pacific Ocean, and that was Cooper's fault to be sure...(it was not a throwing error!). The disc works great at the beach providing there is no rip tide to suck it out to Catalina. I figure a few of ours are on their way to Hawaii. Mahalo! On behalf of the need to be gentle to your dogs gums and promote disc dog activity. Cooper and I endorse the Booda disc.

Three stars for Small Fry but 5+ for larger Booda.,
By
This review is from: Booda Floppy Disc, 7-Inch (Misc.)
I bought this smaller size 7 years ago when we got our first puppy (Cockapoo). I figured small toy for small puppy.Small Booda seemed awkward to throw not catching much air, didn't go that far, and wasn't fun to throw. I bought the big one. What a difference it made! Puppy Georgie basically ignored smaller Booda but went wild over large Booda. I mean CRAZY wild! Cute seeing a tiny dog (3 lb?) carry a big floppy, and she didn't trip over it because it turns and bends upwards in her mouth as she runs to return it. She figured out pretty quickly how to keep from tripping by just holding her head up higher. When puppy #1 was grown we got another puppy. (Cockapoo) I tried both sizes of Booda on Mr. Buzz, thinking all dogs are different and he might prefer the Small Fry. Buzz also preferred larger Booda. Small Fry got stored away. We have been through probably at least 8 of the large Booda in the past 7 years, which usually last around 7 months or so because we leave them outside. They would last longer if stored out of the weather. Our dogs don't chew on them either because they are too busy exploring when they get their 15 minute outside breaks, and I would recommend stowing away if your dog wants to demolish Booda. They are tough but why let your dog use as a chew toy? Save for play time and keep Booda away in between if dog chews. Bottom line for me: larger size Booda wins even for small dogs. indeed costs twice+ as much but totally worth it when one considers the amount of exercise the dog gets, possibly adding years to life not to mention avoided vet bills. Dogs need exercise and this is a great way to get it! We use it on land and water. Great water toy for retrieving as bright colors can be seen very clearly in water. Drain your dog of excess energy daily! ("exercise, discipline, then affection"....Ceaser Milan, Dog Whisperer) Consider trying the large size unless you have a very tiny dog! Full grown our dogs are 10 and 18 lbs but could still handle large Booda as tiny pups. A loyal customer

Great toy for dog,

I have a very large active German Shephard. He has had several of these floppy disc over the last 5 years. We play with them several times a day and they will last about 6-8 months. A few years back I bought one and it fell apart within 3 weeks. I emailed Booda and they shipped me a replacement plus a free one. So I will always use this company for dog toys. Plus my dog refuses to play with anything else but his Booda frisbee's.I have started buying these from Amazon instead of Petsmart or Petco because both stores have increased their price on these by about double. I can't find them anywhere cheaper than Amazon.

Bought as a gold box special, and so glad--we have 2 dogs who both love this toy, and seem to seek it out in their pen instead of other toy choices. Even more fun when tossed or played with by a human friend!

My dog LOVES it, her teeth love it, too!,

So, after noticing that my dog's soft rubber frisbee was doing damage to her teeth, I went looking for an alternative. Someone recommended this one, but, ouch!, what an expensive toy! I was sure it would not even fly right. After reading the rave reviews on this site, I bought this one and a few flippy floppers that I found on sale for four bucks each. There is no comparison: this thing just won't land! I love it and will buy a few more - her teeth are worth it as they won't grow back. I don't let her chew it and, I don't let her play tug with it, it's just there to fly! The Flippy Flopper's rim is hard plastic, which is more painful to catch and makes for a shorter flight. This one has a soft rubber rim (covered by fabric). It is absolutely breathtaking if you throw it at the beach or on a windy day, and since it's so light-weight, it may slightly switch directions "on the fly", which seems to be even more fun for my dog.
